The headphone option

noticed on alot of games when you flick through the sound settings they have a headphone option.

Is this when it delays the sound on one side to make it sound like it's coming from a certain direction like the creative sound cards can do.

Or is it just making it quieter.

i think it depends on the game CSS makes it do that but only one of my headphones works on my headset so come from the left and i am buggered.
