ArmA works better under Win7 than XP!
Okay, Bioshock gets the thumbs up Noticeable difference to Dx9, mainly in the smoke/fog effects.. they blend smoothly and the whole thing just looks so much more polished as a result.
Steam works.. but DoW2 doesn't look any different - still have horrible pixellated shadows with everything on max.
Another update - Fallout 3 works better with the 4870 card under Win7.
In XP it struggled with transparent texture artefacts, in the vegetation and at the waters edge, especially with AA turned up. In Win7 it all works beautifully and the game is even more jaw-dropping. This is probably just a driver thing, as I've seen Fallout 3 look just as good with geforce cards in XP, but it's nice nonetheless.
I'm running Win7 RC full time and have tried lots of games including:
Fallout 3: Runs nicely with noticeably improved performance with my 8800GTS. One small issue with VATS causing a bit of lag from time to time but that might be due to mods I am running
Valve Source Games: HL2, HL2:Episode 1, HL2: Episode 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal and Left4dead all working nicely. Not run any bench marks but L4D seems a little smoother (could be my imagination)
Titan quest + Immortal Throne: Works well. However, I'm getting minor lighting issues in towns. Seems to be linked to blue sources of light, causes flickering and momentary loss of ground textures. Best test will be hades.
Assassins Creed (DX10): works great! smoother than Vista to.
Thief Deadly Shadows: Widescreen issues; I've noticed this before, windows 7 doesn't seem to allow programmes to stretch to fit the screen. could be GFX drivers. Thief does not support widescreen so its in 4:3 with black borders... could be a solution.
Two worlds: Works nicely, runs really fast in fact and I can alt-tab in and out of it even on highest detail settings.
Killing Floor: Works fine, but I've no tried it on vista so I don't have a point of reference.
Diablo 2: Widescreen issue but seems to stretch when set to 800x600 unlike other games that don't support widescreen??? odd..

I am currently playing Painkiller and GTA IV in Windows 7 x64, pretty good playing for both games.
I am having to adjust Win7 to 'Best Performance' (in Advanced settings) to play GTA IV, otherwise it's too slow, like most people having that problem. Most settings in GTA IV are at Medium and it's quite good actually, but not perfect.

When I first tried Guitar Heroes 3, it refused to load. Somehow the on screen CD discs stop spinning on load, and the program will fail to proceed past that. This happened a couple of times until I gave but the next time I tried it though, it worked and has worked ever since (I know, not that helpful).
Does every game released in the last 6 years work under win 7? i migth try it next week when i get my new HDD
Are there still issues with online anti-cheat softwares (rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishbuster or something)?
Punkbuster? no, had to manually update it for BF2 to run ok but after that was fine.
