Not entirely sure about the PC version but Burnout Paradise is my favourite arcade style racer at this present time.

    ^^ This and they're still releasing updates/add-ons
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.

    Re: Recommended Driving Games?

Of the more arcady racers you've got something like Test Drive Unlimited, which is gorgeous and on the realistic side of arcade (while still quite arcade) - huge island to race around, collecting cars etc., something like Grid is good fun with great graphics and crashes, but completely unrealistic handling. Then pure arcade is something like Burnout Paradise, again very very fun.

All have multiplayer - I've not got Grid so can't talk about that one. BP should have good multiplayer but I can't get it to work on my setup unfortunately (likely to be unique to a few people, I'm sure it's fine otherwise). I played a huge amount of Test Drive Unlimited online - in fact the game is pretty much set up to be played online all the time - but nowadays the servers are pretty hammered at peak periods and it can be hard to get on sometimes.

For the more realistic side, GTR evolution and rfactor. Both cheap and loads of mods available for added longevity.

Edit... oh not sims...... Colin mcrae rally 05

    Re: Recommended Driving Games?

Just completed Burnout Paradise. Whole new concept where you have total freedom driving around the city with loads of events to complete. A little unrealistic (like all Burnouts), but brings so much fun.

    Re: Recommended Driving Games?

+1 for GRID. Its a good mix between arcadey and realistic - though not really sim-like. It has the added bonus of having a nice scaleable graphics engine and basically looking really pretty. I stopped playing a few months back, but this could be my excuse to have a go at Le Mans again...

Also +1 for Grid, Excellent graphics, nice car damage system, great single player + multiplayer. Best of all can be picked up from game in their 2 for £15 offers.

    Re: Recommended Driving Games?

Oh if you are getting grid, and dont have a wheel - then highly recomend a 360 pad, makes it waaaay more intuitive. The triggers are so good for accelerating and braking...

but this the awesome Burnout, where we crash cars in a crazy fashion and have ridiculous boost gauges. Fun fun.

GRID is an excellent game too however.

    Re: Recommended Driving Games?

+1 for Test Drive Unlimited (I lost stupid amounts of time on this great game) and for Burnout Paradise which was just a great fun game which really got my heart pounding on an online race (although I got bored of it once I had unlocked everything).

Does anyone know if Fuel is going to be any good?
