    Guitar Hero Metallica

I just picked up my copy from HMV and I'm about to sit down and get stuck into some heavy metal drumming, not one of the shops I went into had the extra kick pedal for expert+ mode unfortunatly but I'm not even close to that anyway. Anybody else picking this up?

BTW if anyone does grab it and wants the HMV "exclusive" 80's and zombie costumes for the band drop me a pm and I'll sort you out

    Re: Guitar Hero Metallica

I REALLY want this but Prototype is out on 12th June and its a toss up between them. I have GH 3 and World Tour already and love them.

However, Prototype and Ghostbusters are getting my money first!!!

    Re: Guitar Hero Metallica

A mate of mine got this a few weeks ago now, region free version from America or something. I thought it was awesome and had great fun playing it.

Most of the Metallica songs are great but didn't think too much of the other artist's songs included on there, apart from the one by Machine Head (got a crazy intro!). For some reason they reworked One into a slightly easier version though

Only problem is too much Metallica over and over again does get a bit boring after a while.

    Re: Guitar Hero Metallica

I have to say I'm very impressed, the motion capture is absolutely spot on and the note tracking feels better, to me at least. I didn't know about all the "Metallifacts" and video stuff either which I've been watching for the last half an hour or so and is actually pretty informative, there's some trivia even I didn't know and I'm a pretty hardcore fan.

Now I just have to resist the urge to drum my way through the career so I can go to the pub, it's gonna be a tough one that.

    Re: Guitar Hero Metallica

Started on it this morning and so far it's bloody brilliant But then I'm a bit biased.

I don't have a GH:WT drum kit at the moment, I don't really want GH:WT so I am trying to pick a set on ebay so I can have a crack at the drumming.

I've not made it through Aersomith yet, so until I can nail Joe Perry, I'm not moving onward.
But quite jealous, now I see MSG in there too and System of a Down, Toxicity.

When Aersomith was launched some people slated it for not being ALL Aerosmith, but once I had it, I was glad to have to work through other stuff to my all time fave's. This looks similar, with some class additions.

Not sure about Foo's Stacked Actors being in there though...

I played through Aerosmith a couple of months back, got stuck on the joe perry guitar duel on expert though, it's just inhuman

I have yet to play Stacked Actors to be fair but I'm betting it'll be much more fun on drums than guitar.

It's not bad on guitar, at least I quite enjoyed it, but as Zak said, it's an odd choice of song for the game.

    Re: Guitar Hero Metallica

Can anyone tell me if this works on the rockband drums?

I really want this as I love metallica and I love the drums so this should be the perfect combination?

    Thanks

    Re: Guitar Hero Metallica

What can I say . Great game so far (not because Metallica are one of my favourite bands or anything ).

It was a great touch to come out to the Ecstasy of Gold when you begin the career

Anyone else think that One on GH:3 was slightly more fun?

Nope, they don't work together for some reason

I trying to find myself a cheap set of GH:WT drums at the moment so I can use them on this as well.

I've not got to One in GH:M yet, so I can't say.

I loved the Ecstasy of Gold at tthe start of the game as well. The whole game, or at least what I have seen of it so far is very well done and from a fans point a of view it's pretty much as good as it could have been. It's taking me a while to get through the game because I have to stop and watch the Metallifact vids after each song.

Really? I've not tried it personally but the chaps at Activision reckon GH:M is compatable with just about everything - http://cdn.guitarhero.com/ghhub/GHWT_compatibility.pdf

Hmmm, I've not actually tried them myself, mainly because I had read on several other forums of people saying they don't work and I had not seen anyone correcting them, so I took it that they don't work. According to that chart they should work fine though.

I'll try them out later and see if they do indeed work or not. Thanks Knox

    Re: Guitar Hero Metallica

I only have the rock band drums, and GH: Metallica works fine with them. You need to hit blue & yellow together to launch star power is the only issue.

I've been enjoying it so far, though didn't like being thrown into a bunch of Metallica's favourite songs on the 2nd tier after only getting to play 2 tracks from the main attraction themselves.

Still, tiers 3 & 4 are much better.
