Nintendo DS, shooters, GBA & TV Connectivity...

    Hello,
I’m interested in buying a Nintendo DS so that I can play the shooters available for it, the older GBA games and also be able to hook it up to a regular CRT TV via composite RCA, using one of those 3rd party wire adaptors I’ve seen in various shops.
I’m not sure if this is even possible on an older CRT TV via composite RCA or only on a digital TFT/LCD TV, as it has newer HDMI input.

At my local game store they have 3 Nintendo DS iterations:
    1.Ninntendo DS Lite (2006)
    2.Nintendo DS Lite (2008)
    3.Nintendo DSi (With A camera) (2009)

So, which of the 3 would be the best choice for all my expectations?

    Thanks in advance.

The DSi doesn't have the slot for GBA cartridges from what I've heard.

Don't waste your money on a DSi, go for a DS Lite. As far as i'm aware, there's no difference between 2006 and 2008 so my advice would be to go with whatever's cheaper. Obviously ask them to make sure, but the only thing i can think of would be perhaps a contrast boost or something similar (i've got an '06 and there's nowt needs upgrading).

The DSi is a good console for complete newcomers. As such it appeals to the casual market that Nintendo adore, has a gimmicky camera and lots of social stuff. The DS Lite is a much more "proper handheld" in my opinion.

In any case, you want to play the older GBA games so there's no point you buying a DSi to begin with - it doesn't have the slot. This also means you can buy guitar hero DS

WRT the TV hookup, i'm not sure where you've found this adaptor. The only one i could find was from this article: http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/24/ni...re-aint-purdy/ and it doesn't sound great given that it requires re-wiring the insides. The GBA could play on TV's via the gamecube (remember it had that old gameboy player on the bottom) but that's the only one i know about. For starters the DS doesn't actually have any outputs...
