Left 4 Dead....2!

Just read up about the new Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2 which is due to be released in mid November. Tad disappointed in the sense that i paid £30 last Nov for the game, and ill have to pay another £30 this November for what is essentially a major update (same principle just new stuff to play with). Expect new characters, maps, melee weapons, zombies & set in mid America. Trailer also shows jets doing a bobbin run so will be interested in seeing if they are anything more then eye candy/extraction related rather then story line/game play related,.

Im hoping that we get some sort or rebate/discount for owning the original but we will wait and see!

I am also quite disappointed - from what I've seen in the trailers, there doesn't look like anything that couldn't have been provided in a few major updates.

If you don't think the product out the box (as it were) is worth the price then don't play it - no one is forcing you to play it!

Loads of games do updates year on year and get bought.

Look at fifa and pro evo very small updates each year but they still sell really well.

Reading up on l4d 2 and it does sound like it will be a lot of fun. The addition of melee weapons sounds really interesting. Not sure how the day time settings will fair compared to the night settings but could be a lot of fun.

The original game is a lot of fun, doubly so if you can get a few mates on board! Will pay for this game as i know it will be just as much fun, just a shame they didnt make it free DLC.

Bout time they updated the Source engine to be honest. It's getting a bit long in the tooth now.

I'll just do like I always do. Wait till the price is slashed on a week-end special, and pick it up for half-price or less. To the extent that the game was quite polished, and fun to play, I do not think L4D is 'incomplete' as some have argued elsewhere. And since I didn't pay attention to the 'promise' of DLC, I am not too disappointed - for my money, it was worth it. I am a little surprised no one else have jumped into the bandwagon of making a coop-focussed FPS since then.

I'll be buying this when it comes around. I bought the forst edition at half price and expect to do the same here. I have certainly got my money's worth out of it.
Bring it on, those zombies aren't going to shoot themselves !

NB - IGN have a series of gameplay videos from the new game. Looks hilarious. I want the frying pan.

Looks good to me and worthy of paying for. If you dont want to buy it, dont buy it, or feel its too much then wait until its half price on Steam like I did.

Yup this man speaks the truth. i never bought it as its not worth £30 for 5-6 hours of repetetive boring gameplay/storyline.

bought it for my bro who played it for two weeks and got bored of it
