    Fallout 3 Addons

I'm playing through Fallout 3 at the moment - and I'm only at the very early stage of the game with virtually none of the main storyline completed, but I am enjoying it so far. I'm virtually certain that I will end up getting the addons, so I'm just wondering whether I should wait until it's finished or if it would be a good idea to install them now?

I know there are a lot of threads out there and reports I could check out, but I've already hit on some really irritating spoilers accidentally and don't particularly want to find out any new ones .

I'm aware that one of them (forgotten the name) will move the level cap higher, so for example is it worth installing that and then continue playing the game? And should they be installed in order? I've really got no idea how it all works, so any advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Re: Fallout 3 Addons

I think that The Pitt adds some new weapons or items to your game. Operation Anchorage definetly adds some sweet items to carry on playing your game with. So these 2 DLC's add a few quests. I guess the main thing these give you are some nice equipment to quest with. Both offer new areas aswell. But with the Pitt you can return to those areas.

With everything going on in Fallout 3 you can easily reach level 20 without touching the main quest. So the Broken Steel raises the level cap to 30. So you can reap the benefits from Broken Steel without even starting Broken Steel's quests.

Point Lookout will come on the 23rd of this month. From what I have read this is for high level characters and may have a lot of combat.

Last time I looked, my Fallout 3 Broken Steel thread is below yours. I don't think has any spoilers in that is not whited out

Cheers for the info, I'll take a look at that thread now it's been confirmed safe, albeit a careful look

Based on what you've said it sounds like a pretty good idea to get a few of them installed then... doesn't sound like it will do any harm at least, which was my main concern.

    Re: Fallout 3 Addons

    Whoa there, Me forgot.
With the latest patches it fixed a lot and the game was stable.

But with the DLC you need to be signed into LIVE which you can do offline. But since I have done this it keeps crashing to desktop and crashing when exiting the game.

I hear there is a work around I have yet to try. I think it involves moving the DLC pluggins so you can load the DLC without LIVE. But that wil mean you will not gain achievements. I will post URL once I have tried it. If it works. I use PC BTW. Sorry for the late warning

    Re: Fallout 3 Addons

No problem, I'm not in any great rush over it

I really don't like LIVE, so I would definitely look into anything that can get around it - achievements don't really do a lot for me seeing as I don't have a 360.
