    Smoothest gameplay?

I don't want to start a flame war here. I know each has their own good and bad points. I've been playing Fable 2 recently on the Xbox 360. At some point it seems to stutter when there's a LOT going on on screen. I found Ninja Gaiden 2 did the same occasionally.

Is this a problem on the PS3 too? I would have thought that as it's more powerful it could cope better, and I've also heard that they're not quite so noisy.

Anyone have both and care to comment?

    Re: Smoothest gameplay?

Fable 2 isn't out on the PS3 is it?

Stuttering is a completely game dependant thing - the system doesn't matter as the game should have been written to the systems capabilities (which unlike a PC, don't change).

The only difference I've seen was between Oblivion on the X360 and the PS3, and that was down to the fact that the PS3 one was developed later and they were able to incorporate some optimisations (which they also patched into the PC one).

Fable 2 has been fine for me apart from when you need to get 10 people to follow you to the Demon door, then its really slow!

    Re: Smoothest gameplay?

Whoops, I guess not. I thought Fable 2 was cross platform, so wondered if there was a common engine underneath. Guess it's a nonstarter and I should just stick with the Xbox then.

Yeah, admittedly, this is usually when there are a fair amount of hollow men, orbs and summoned undead on screen.
