Are you MMORPG Addict Player too?

Hello everyone! Do you enjoy much playing MMORPG games? I just started playing this addictive game and it really triggers my interest on PC stuff specially role playing games. WoW is the best but I didn't mean to say that others are not. I admire WoW it is because it was the MMO game that I started to play.

If you are doing "very well" in game it usually means you sacrificed your real life to get there. enough said.

if you have fun and are satisfied with a few hours now and again of mindless grinding with no significant progression, then go ahead .

Re: Are you MMORPG Addict Player too?

I find that with LOTRO at least you can do both - I guess it helps that I'm a Lord of the Rings geek and so know the stories and charcaters inside out and upside down - and can therefore make an educated guess at some of the more obscure quests.

But I have a level 42 Rune Keeper, Level 37 Hunter, and Level 36 Champion (and 2 lower level characters) the level cap is now 60 (was 50 when I started playing) and I'm not fed up yet - but I can put it down for weeks straight and just pick it back up again.

Deed grinding is a pain in the proverbial though...

Re: Are you MMORPG Addict Player too?

I've never really had enough time or patience to really get into MMORPG. I had a stap at City Of Villains/City Of Heroes & a couple of others, but I really have too much going on 'in the real world' to dedicate the time required to really make a go of it. Had a few hours with the DragonSky open beta at the weekend which was fun, but it'll fall by the wayside like everything else in no time at all.

I always wanted to get into EVE but after playing a 21 day trial I realised I'd have to give it more or my free time than I was prepared to do to get the most out of it.

I shall always admire it from afar.

Re: Are you MMORPG Addict Player too?

Played Wow since release, played a bit of guild wars and got sick.

I wouldnt say i am a hardcore player, and i havent lost anything in playing it? Yet i have 2 level 80s and 2 level 70s all pretty geared.

I enjoyed playing wow, until blizzard nerfed all the content for no reason, so any noobs could run in and clear ulduar ten. Hence why my account is inactive at the moment

Not anymore, knocked wow on the head before xmas, been playing since the start, but the game isn't the same as it used to be.

Have/Had accounts in quite a few other mmo's to, namely LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, Guild Wars, Age of Conan, Warhammer, Star Wars Galaxies, Eve to name but a few, looking forward to some of the ones coming out later in the year, but don't have the time to play them like i used to.

I think gaming addict would be more appropriate for me!

I know im addicted when I play a game and there are aspects of it I absolutely detest, yet I continue to play day in day out

    /age

Across all characters, you have played for 2,322 hours 41 minutes over the past 48 months.

    That a lot?

Haven't really played much Guild Wars in the past 1 - 2 years though.

Re: Are you MMORPG Addict Player too?

I swore off MMORPG for most part after Ultima Online. Played Myth of Soma for a couple of days before realising that they are probably all the same: endlessly grinding your life away. By the time I sold my UO account it was worth 4 digits (castles alone were worth a lot at one time) but I'd pay that much to have my time back. Don't mean to damper anyone's enjoyment, but do consider whether you enjoy the game because it is fun to play, or if you are addicted to the endless grinding. Maybe WoW is different, after all it did manage to grow the pie of the MMORPG market (and capture most of it), and Blizzard are known how to make fun games.. but I doubt that I will bother finding out. Too many fun games with a start and an end to play (though too bad I am missing some plot advancement in the Warcraft Universe).

Re: Are you MMORPG Addict Player too?

I used to play The Age of Conan when it was released for around 2 months. The thing is, I find RPG games ( i.e Fallout, Fable, Tales series) have far more defined plots and characters than these MMORPGS with less of a grind. I just cannot hold my interest long enough for MMO gameplay.

I've always been of that thinking but I was told that if you perform well enough in game you can actually make enough points, money, whatever to buy you further time...

I may give that a go in the future but as a general rule I don't play them because it doesn't sit well will me having to pay and pay for a game.

You can, and I made enough money in the trial to afford a month.. however the in-game credits are better spent on other things.

Re: Are you MMORPG Addict Player too?

i palyed wow since release and have only just quit it in the last 2 months. the game was ruined in my opinion. otherwise i would probably still play. i was at the point were i could just log in on my spare evenings and waste time away from the world..

im now playing eve, in hope that i can get to the same sort of place, but im not sure if i have the motivation to learn another game!
