Anyone else looking forward to PES 2010?

I think they kind of dropped the ball on 08/09 and Fifa took a bit of a lead, especially with the "become a legend" mode. I hope the PES team can pick it up and get licensing for a few more Premier League teams.

    Anyone else play here?

Re: Anyone else looking forward to PES 2010?

I do indeed. 2009 was an improvement on 08. I play on PC so fifa is still so piss poor on the pc that I've stuck to PES, plus I'm a die hard fan. Licensing doesnt bother me. Thanks to the great modding community you can get patches which fix all the kits, badges, balls, stadiums etc.

What I really want to see is a complete overhaul of the Masterleague, with more leagues, 1 for every major EU nation so its more like the real thing and if they keep the champs league license it should be integrated into the ML mode. Transfers also need to be sorted out and do away with the crappy 'PES points' system and use some real currency! Either £ or Euros...as long as its realistic!!

I also wish they'd sort out crowd sounds, again with a patch you can get really good chants but this year you can only hear the home fans, theres no response from the away end EVER...its so unrealistic. Crowd animations could definately be improved as well, take a leaf out of the more recent NBA games. Commentary is always poor but it is getting gradually better.

They've been claiming they going to sort out some of the above but they say this every year so I'm not holding my breath. If FIFA bring next-gen version to the PC i'll readily switch if PES doesnt get its act together. And this is coming from a life long ISS/PES fan!!!

    Sort it out PES!

Oh, fix the crowd chants as well. I was fed of hearing 15 minutes straight "Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool..."

    Nooooo

Re: Anyone else looking forward to PES 2010?

Haha what a random post. PES2009 wasnt a good game. I would (and do) rather play FIFA09 as I think its a better game, but I had more fun playing PES. Why? Alot of my friends are loyal PES fans and its great playing a tourney with a bunch of mates in the same room. The banter and trash talking are all part of the expereince.

They need to tweak a few things from last year though, maybe get a few more licenses and defo need to capture live chants from games.

Re: Anyone else looking forward to PES 2010?

I enjoyed Pro Evo 6 and 07 but they just so got it wrong this time around and with 08 imo... it's like the games not evolving. Compared to how in depth Fifa is, it just makes the Pro Evo team seem so lazy.

My housemate, a DIE HARD Pro Evo fan (I mean I know Pro Evo fans, I was one of them... this chap is in another league) has even converted to Fifa 09 because it's just so much better.

I also don't get why the PC version and console versions of Fifa appear to be incredibly different? They seem to gimp out the PC version.

I agree fezfezed, the element of Pro Evo that was most fun was definitely multiplayer since most dudes know Pro Evo pretty well... but now everyone who's open minded enough to do something trival enough like to try a new football game has moved onto Fifa. I've played quite a few good 2 vs 2 matches on Fifa 09 these days now

Re: Anyone else looking forward to PES 2010?

Don't think I could ever switch. It may look weird that Pro Evo players only ever run in 8 directions or so but it makes the game control much more tightly.

Re: Anyone else looking forward to PES 2010?

If they had used the proper engine on PC for Fifa 09 I would have switched this year, really don't know why they made that stupid choice. So Pro has been my game for the last few months as usual, not so bad once you do a bit of modification with option files and the such, although I agree Fifa is a lot better. I hope they get their arses in gear this time. The only plus is I find Pro a much harder game to play, when I turned up at a friends house having only played Fifa once this year I gave them all a serious tuning on it, 6-1's and the like, they were'nt happy!

If so, they could make the game use the old engine when running low graphics or something? Make the game adaptive to the computer rather than forcing everyone to use the engine they used to use for like Fifa 05 or whatever lol.

Either way it's a bit unfair that PC gamers get gimped out when they pay for the game too

Yea it is but thats EA Sports for you. If 2k sports can make a next gen game run well on my laptop then EA sports dont have a valid excuse imo.

nba 2k9 is the game that can run fine on my laptop and still look great
