red alert 3 cant reinstall ?

ea suoprt is sucking so lets see if i can get a better arnser from hexus
i'v resentley swapped hard drives and did not uninstall the game before takeing out the drive so now when i try to reinstall red alert 3 the installer wont run, i'v tryed useing compatabilty mode (xp sp2 mode ) and still it wont fire up, this is a digtal download from driect2drive and i'v tryed redownloading and the intaller still wont run, tryed a firends dvd and still have the same problem.

Just run the game from the old hard drive. Should work fine I think.

Edit* Ah did you swap out or just swap hard drive? As in your old hard drive is still connected but as a 'slave'?

You don't get any errors at all? It just refuses to install?

yep
all i do is dubble click the autorun/setup exe and nothing happens

Weird are you running a two drive setup, eg one for games one for your OS? if so the registry on the OS drive will still have the game as installed hence why it won't reinstall, i think.

yep, but i'v gone thrue the registry and deleated all refences of red alert 3.

Sounds like a registry issue to me, I'd maybe give CCcleaners registry scanner a bash, but make sure you only remove entrys you are happy with.

Well im stumped lol only other thing i can think of is if you have hit your install limit for the game, which you will need to download the deauth tools for and try.

weird, that got it, but when i put my cd key in, it stoped and now wont run again.

Not much more i can really suggest then tbh, you could try rining EA and getting them to de auth all the installs but getting them to do it is another matter and if it actually helps again is anyones guess.

it's o.k i figured it out i went thrue the registry again, and when when i got the installer running, i quit it and used my sisters kids dvd version of the game
