'StarCraft II' delayed until 2010

Activision Blizzard has postponed the release of StarCraft II until the first half of 2010, it has been confirmed.

According to the publisher, the game's release has been put back to coincide with the relaunch of the firm's online gaming service Battle.net.

The news follows in the wake of reports that science fiction title Singularity has also been delayed until Q1, 2010.

I'm not sure my RTS skillz are quite 1337 enough for Starcraft (supposedly pro-players have an average mouse-click rate of 150 clicks per minute), although I am tempted to pick it up this sequel when it comes out out of interest. It wasn't on my 2009 game wish list though.

there are already playable versions if you're the right person...

Indeed, it's typically Blizzard to release things only when they are ready. But vaporeware, this isn't.

I think everyone knew this was coming as the open beta hasn't even started yet.

Hope they don't move it back again or my creditcard will expire and mess up my million year old pre-order
