    F. F. 7 - what's similar?

I've had a great time whilst abroad playing final fantasy 7, for PS1, on a PS2, and got really in to it again. Awesome game, although visually so dated. Now back at home, can anyone recommend a game with a similar feel? I don't mean storyline so much, but certainly the summoning, junctioning, progressively upgrading of stats etc were aspects I loved. I have a DS, iPhone, and wii too, although I guess I was mainly considering PC.
    Thanks for some thoughts

Seems an obvious answer but i would recommend all the other Final Fantasy games released for the PC (or other systems!) if you enjoyed number 7 so much.

Get Chrono Trigger for the DS... Its not as snazzy looking as FFVII (THough I actually prefer the old school look) but the storyline is great, there are tons of characters and multiple endings too! But as stated above, check out some other FF games too.

    Re: F. F. 7 - what's similar?

FF8, FF9 were both PS1 titles, FF8 revolves around a guy named squall with various issues, and sees you travelling across mulitple continents and into space, highly recommended, doesn't quite have the same feel as FF7 but is still a worthy successor with a excellent plot, FF9 was also PS1 and is really a chalk or cheese game, you will either love it or not really be arsed about it, it feels more like FF7 but is not quite their.

FF10 and FF10 X2 were both PS2 titles so had better GFX then the previous games, they also feature voice acting for the first time, X2 was the first sequel to a FF game following on from the end of FF10, if you have a PS2 buy FF10 their is no excuse not to, the plot is excellent, gameplay is brill and the cutscenes will take ya breath away, the main story plot follows around a summoner called yuna who has to defeat sin (big evil beast that haunts the land) & Tidus a character seeming from the past thrust into yunas time.

FF12 was then released after for PS2, gameplay is good but relies way to heavily on combat with you having to kill thousands upon thousands of bad guys, i got to about the 50 hour mark got bored and finished the game, plot is very meh at best and doesn't really keep you wanting to play the game.

I personally would look at picking up FF8 & FF10 if you have a PS2,another one that might intrest ya are Front Mission 3, this is a game made by square in a classic RPG sytle but features turn based combat with mechs, it will easily eat up hours of your time and features two completely different story plots. If you haven't got a PS2 its worth picking one up dirt cheap just to play the FF games alone. You could also run them through a emulator but to legally do so requires you own the console anyway.

PC wise i would recommend you having a look at the last remnent, it installs via steam so is something to be aware of but gets brill reviews and is quite cheap. http://www.play.com/Games/PC/4-/6061...t/Product.html a free demo is availble via steam so you can give it a bash first, bearing in mind the high system requirements.
