Well, after playing the demo i've decided that it was a waist of my time :O_o
I fully understand just why i've avoided the NFS franchise for soo long.
Bring on Forza, Race on, Rfactor 2 and i could say GT but i don't have a PS3....

Must admit I am enjoying this game so far, nowhere near a sim but a decent racer none the less. Although the drifting sections of the game seem out of place with the grand scheme of things, also not to keen on them, trying to see if I can get through the game without doing them and going back to them at the end.

Yeah there's no need to do the drifts - you lose out on the achievements for getting all the stars, that's all. I've already unlocked all the tiers and world series without them, and seeing as every race you do (single race, online etc.) all count towards levelling up there's no need there either.
The game is fun at times, especially in multiplayer with a group of fun players (thanks j.o.s.h and friend) - the lack of server browsing does my head in though, as you just get dumped in a random lobby with no control over anything and usually end up in a room with kiddies playing destruction derby.
If anyone's interested in clean racing then feel free to add me (same username as here) to friends. Not that that will really help in getting together for a match, but you can try (when you want just send game invites to everyone on your list, if they happen to be online and not in a match they might get it).
You playing the PC or the 360 version? If the 360 I will join in on the clean racing session
As for the Drift skipping, that is good news. I will do them after I have done the career and the NFS World Series. Drift to me seems as if it was tacked on afterwards, about the achievements I am one of those players that doesn't give a single hoot about some gamer score points or achievements etc. I buy and play a game to play the game not to extend an imaginary e-peen

PC. If I had an X360 or PS3 I'd have skipped this and waited for FM3 or GT5 respectively We don't have that luxury on the PC though
TBH Forza was never a game that caught my attention, I pick it up here and there and play it. The racing game for me is GTR no matter what I play I always seem to come back to this for my racing fix.
Back in the day I put a lot of time into GT on the PS2 but I am more into the bike racing than cars so it takes a lot for a car racing game to catch my attention to come back and play it again. Shift is a play once through and out on the shelf. Forza I just can't be bothered with it and it's not all that it's hyped to be, GT is a standard racer to me, PGR 4 is alright but got bored of that to.
I think still to this day the only racing games that kept me interested for years have been Colin McRae 1 and 2, WRC on the PS2 and the GTR series and how could I forget the original TOCA with the BTCC. Really do need another proper rally game to land on all platforms.

Kal, is that the only fix on this patch?
Yes, but for anything to be out this soon after release you can't really change much - I'd guess that they were working on these things before the game was released and they only just failed to meet the deadline.
That they are willing to add in anything at all for the PC only version does bode well.
Yea thats true and i hope their next patch fixes all the other issues and add more custom features for online play.
right now, you can even force people to use certain settings on or off in a race or even see what car people have selected!
Why cant EA just release mod tools for this game and be done with it? let the community fix this game up good and proper if EA are too lazy to do so?
There's nothing lazy about it j.o.s.h.1408, no-one can magic up perfect code in a day. If they were lazy then they wouldn't have even released the improved interface patch for the PC.
On another note. Lambo reventon + nordschliefe =
Oh and some screenies. These are annoying to take as well, print screen doesn't work, so you have to use the in game replay + snapshot feature.. which uploads to the NFS website, so you have to log in to that then look at your photos then download...
They've accurately simulated the lack of working indicators...
Despite the controls being there..
Won't you.. just... turn.. in...
I think the balloon rider has the right idea..
You'll have to wait for the supercar screens unfortunately, but some of the cockpits are ace.
Got any screenshots of me, u and JC's sessions online?
That was a great session, but no - as I said above, screen capturing doesn't work, in Windows 7 at least (you get a nice shot of your desktop) so you have to rely on the replay+snapshot feature. But of course in typical NFS:S style, you can't watch replays of multiplayer races
You actually managed to finish the Reventon race didn't you? I was impressed (everyone else has to see j.o.s.h.1408's driving style to understand what I mean ).
Mad as the supercars are, I'm probably enjoying the relatively slow stock cars the most in multiplayer - they allow for really close racing and you have to be so smooth on them and carry speed through the corners to gain an advantage over another player, which suits my style a lot more than these 600+ bhp cars that are effectively stop-start between corners.
