I did the same thing when I played it through last year.

    Great game though.

Yes, saving him means going out the front door, or at the very least slaughtering all the troops so Paul goes out the front door.

I seem to recall you can exit via the window if youve got Paul out the front.

Re: Deus Ex £$"£ $! (Spoiler Alert)

After hearing much great things about Deus Ex I decided to purchase it off ebay and give it a shot. I tried, I really did. I wanted to love it, but for some reason I couldn't get past an hour without giving a great big sigh and shutting if off. I honestly do want to like it, but for some reason I just can't.

    Sounds fun though .

Re: Deus Ex £$"£ $! (Spoiler Alert)

Deus Ex... give it more of a chance. Maybe it'll seem pretty dated now, but when I first played it I thought it was mindblowingly good.

Awesome game. Prob in my top 3 best games ever.

Tbh it still is mindblowing, the fact their are tons of different ways to complete every objective keeps me more then entertained, so want my dragon sword though, stuck with a puny baton at the moment i can't murder things with lol. Found myself going for the "minimum" force approach this time round, traq darts and cattle prod...though once i get my sword that will change

Truly a great game... the first level is a little slow, especially if it's the first time you've played; but then you get more weapons, abilities and the excellent story line kicks in.

Re: Deus Ex £$"£ $! (Spoiler Alert)

Well one thing about the original is if you're expecting a FPS, well sorry to let you down but it's not.
It leans very heavly on the RPG side of things, so if you want to run around shooting stuff like you would in an FPS then you need to work on the weapon skill stats.
It is a great blend of fps and rpg it's also not for the compleatists as while there are multiple ways to do things every time you go one way that effectively closes off another 2.
That does give it a great replay value though and lets you play it in the way you like to play and go for a whole different approach next time around.

Re: Deus Ex £$"£ $! (Spoiler Alert)

I loved this game when it came out. I remember wishing for a multiplayer, which I think there was a mod for, but was at a time when I only had dial-up so never tried it.

IIRC, there were 3 endings. I think I created a save game and then replayed the last 20 mintues to see each one. One was much more involved than the other two. Another one was also very close to "Ghost in the Shell" ending as well.

Hmm, currently £5.99 on Steam. Although I thinik I remember seeing it going cheap at some point.

I always thought it was essential each time to leave the front door, otherwise he dies regardless of what else happens.

Re: Deus Ex £$"£ $! (Spoiler Alert)

I only found out you could save Paul about 5 years after my first run through! Must have got better at FPS games in that time because when I first played that part I just couldn't do it and thought it was scripted not to let you save him!

Genius game though, lets hope the third game is even half as good.

Edit: I was planning on another play through when this was finished: http://www.offtopicproductions.com/hdtp/ but the last post is dated October '08

I still have faith it'll be completed; I'm after the New Vision mod as well, which deals with all the world textures.

GOTYE has multiplayer integrated, I think multiplayer was introduced as part of an official patch?

There is some great mods/expansions for deus ex. This one came out recently, been meaning to give it a try.
