Is this the game i have heard so many good things about? Only it might be worth a buy but i remember one of the "franchise" having lots of bad press so don't want to waste my money, albeit £7 on a duff game.
TIA.

It's good, not duff.

there's a Star Wars : best of pc collection in Game for 2 for £15 if i remember correctly. includes KOTOR, Jedi Knight II, Empire at War, Republic Commando and Battlefront. Best value game collection i've ever bought!
Yep, this game was ace... Really loved it, though I wonder how it will stand up now? Either way, may have to pick this up, would give me a chance to try the darkside path.
Never played the first one but I remember the second one being excellent
Have bought it and downloaded it, not really had a chance to do much on it yet though, only (minor) niggle is it doesn't support wide screen resolutions, maywell be a "fix" for it but as i said not had a lot of chance to look into it as yet.
There is a widescreen fix, instructions here.
Brilliant game, currently playing it on my Eee :-) I bought it when it came out back in '04. I recomend taking the scout class because you get upto level 3 implants for free (class bonus feats), its also worth taking "toughness" and "Conditioning" 1-3 regardless of which class you go for.
ENJOY!

The second game was by no means bad, just bugged here and there (although the patches seemed to have fixed most of it since i've never had issues), also it was rushed so sometimes some dialogue/plot progression doesn't fully make sense because it was intended for other levels which cut from the game.
The main issue i found was just that it felt so similar to the first, a good game in that sense, but some things were just *too* similar (Spoiler:The Bastilla and Sion fights for example... "okay i've whittled down your health, now what will you do... regenerate it? How original Sion)
I liked the new feats and Prestige classes they added with KoTOR2 but ultimately, the story and gameplay didn't feel... good/better enough than KoTOR1 to make me think it was better.
A good to very good game nonetheless, but not a great like the first.
Republic Commando is one of the worst games I have ever played. Apart from Jericho.
They've got a jedi knigth collection at the moment on steam, dark Forces, Jedi Knight, MOTS, Academy, Outcast for £15, i think. that's not a bad deal.
