I just saw this on RPS:

Seriously, Lucasarts need to hire this guy. Or at least swipe his idea wholesale.

Virtual Monkey (23-09-2009)
Saw that on steam, looks pretty amazing. Loved the classic, might get this to play it again.
As i said on GO, this would be an apt time for a spammer to appear flogging fine leather jackets...
Yes got to get this one for my son![]()
Certainly looks more interesting than the steaming pile of pap I inadvisedly purchased on the Wii recently (badly implemented and not even slightly funny - couldn't quite believe how bad it was)
he i tried it out on that talk like a pirate day....first time i have ever even heard of it lol but still seems intresting enough!
I don't think you did... This isn't the official re-release of Monkey Island 1 with its spanky new graphics (which is, in itself, awesome), but a guy who's repurposed the Crysis Engine and some high rez concept art from Monkey Island 2 to render parts of the game in incredible detail and full 3D.
Lucasarts really need to have a look at it, would be ace to see the next re-release look like this.
Now THAT is impressive.
Wow, just wow.
I hope they snap him up and release it eventually![]()
£$%^&*( awesome!!!
One of my favorite games of all time......I really hope they take his idea and run with it, the atmosphere in the video was amazing!

Oh my days. I'm impressed. 2nd time today as well.
Brilliant used to have the original on the amiga. I know its just general pirate stuff but so so much of pirates of the carribean could've been lifed straight out of monkey island. The swamp with the oracle and all sorts.
AMAZING. I sincerely hope the full game gets this treatment.
It would be great if more 2D-based games were given a similar makeover. Final Fantasy 7 in CryEngine anyone?
Add me on Steam! http://steamcommunity.com/id/jeddrawscartoons
Very impressed too. I like it when individuals innovate, reminds me of the old bedroom coder days of computer games.
