Best place to preorder your games from

With Forza 3 coming soon and other games in the pipeline i was wondering which was the best place to preorder your games from.

I know game are normally pretty good as i often get them the day before releaae but are there any other places which are better.

I've heard shopto.net are meant to be good as well as ideally i want to get my game as soon as possible.

Plus i've also heard the The Hut tend to get games out on wednesday.

Game and Amazon are usually my preferred choice, I only use play or dvd if they are substantially cheaper or the titles have already been released. Game preorders usually arrive on Wednesday(they use first class) while Amazon ones usually arrive on Thursday(second class but still arrive in 1 day). Play preorders tend to arrive late.

Depends what your priorities are - if speed then one of the Game owned stores are usually the best. If price then it varies per title - I find asda/wallmart/love film some of the most competitive, but they're slow. PC World also have some silly low pricing sometimes for pre-orders, but again the actual delivery can be quite delayed.

My priorities are mainly speed as I really want to play forza before I go on holiday (thurs) and wonder if any shops deliver on the wed's (2days before forza's official release) consistently.

Nah, this definitely belongs in here in my opinion, you had it right first time

I honestly don't preorder games very often these days, even around the holiday season there's usually more than enough stock knocking around between all the stores in my local westfield shopping center for me to just walk down and buy whatever it is over the counter on the day.

The last time I did preorder a game was for Arkham Asylum and I only bothered then because I was preordering a copy for my younger brother at the same time. I ordered it from play.com of all places in the end and it arrived first thing friday morning much to my surprise, previous to that even preordered dvd's had a tendency to arrive a day or two late. I guess they've stepped up their game since I last preordered something from them.

Having said that I'm not sure I'd trust them to manage it again so if something comes up in future that I really want and can't be bothered to walk to the shops for I'll probably use game or shopto as they've always been reliable in the past.

I've read good things about shopto with people normally getting them 2 days before release.

Have you ordered from them before.

Dont want to be a worry but you also got to consider this note....

Please note: There may be a delay to 1st and 2nd class deliveries due to recent Royal Mail industrial action affecting parts of the country...

That was on gameplay site which i usually use and they always seem to get the game to me a day before release, but i think whatever site you use you might experience delay..hopefully it's over and done with now...

Gameplay are the same as Game, ditto Gamestation. They used to have an advantage over Game proper for free delivery, but that's changed now so you might prefer to use Game for the reward points.

Delivery starts at £0.99p, hardly breaks the bank. Using Game for the reward points can be a waste with some games. Have a look at the prices of ODST on all 3 on the GAME related sites. Gameplay want £29.99, the other 2 want £34.99, even with the added postage only an idiot would buy from GAME in this instance.

All of my Pre-Orders are from Gameplay, over the years they have consistently got my games to me the day before, with only a few arriving on the actual day of release. You won't find anyone who gets you the game 2 days before release, and if anyone does then its very very rare.

I didn't realise it still varied then - for all my last PC purchases the prices have been identical.

i normally use play beacuse they always seem to deliver fairly quick and prices are normally pretty good, agree with the asda and pc world they sometimes have pre orders for silly prices. have used blahdvd and they arrived on day.

given up with pre orders lately fed up buying games that promise so much and are rubbish ...pro evo 2009 being a shining example

Shopto are usually quickest for me, either them or Amazon. Just avoid Play if speed is of the essence.
