Re: No dedicated servers for MW2

I've still got preorder with Amazon, but I'm tempted to cancel it, just to see if there are any reviews or announcements about the multi player PC.
Also most of the people who I would play with have cancelled theirs as well so doesn't seem much point

Re: No dedicated servers for MW2

I have just cancelled the 360 pre order for this as £69.99 for the hardened edition plus me using the last of my voucher the other week I can't justify the price tag anymore.

Does anyone know some cheap pre-order deals for MW2 on the PC (Not bothered about the online tbh) Seen the coolshop deal of £24.99 but I have had a lot of problems with these guys in the past so don't want to use em.

Re: No dedicated servers for MW2

People who say they aint bothered about MP...

Think about how unentertaining its going to be if your not the host, they will have ping of like 10-20 (to connect to the master server) and you will have a ping of 70+ when you are local to them.

Dont even bother with it guys if they get the money then they will think this treatment is ok, just look at other games until IW realize their errors.

Re: No dedicated servers for MW2

I am still debating whether to get it or not as Left 4 Dead 2 is out soon and I have a bucket load of 360 games to get through. Do you reckon the price will drop a few months down the line? I know CoD4 held it's price for nearly 2 years.

Re: No dedicated servers for MW2

Gameplay have it for £29.99 I think. I haven't cancelled my pre-order yet as I'm waiting to see if there are any further anouncements/early reviews on it first before making the decision. It's possibly worth £30 for the SP as long as there's a reasonable resale value IMHO too.

Probably the best idea, will see reviews first as the multiplayer side I don't mind match making system as it works for cod4 on the 360. Just not sure whether to wait for it as I have a pile of games to get through so no rush for it.

Their are rumours floating around that the SP mode is shorter than cod4. why dont you just rent the game?

I haven't seen this rumour, will wait for reviews and videos on youtube and see how short the sp is. Might rent it for the 360 then.

Yes it was £29.99 but today they have put it up to £34.99 yet claim it comes with a "free upgrade to courier delivery" as an excuse to rip everyone off. The more time that passes and the more **** that happens with this game the more I am starting to hate it and dont want it!

Re: No dedicated servers for MW2

Cancelled my pre-order on the PC.

I am not buying this game, not when it has so much crap tied to it. The multiplayer isnt dedicated and it wont have any custom mods, or maps. Pretty crap when i play alot of custom maps on MW.

The matchmaking system will be ultra crap. My friends arent all same level as each other skill wise, so matching us against a team of similar skill will take ages. If anyone has played Halo 3 (360) matchmaking then you will know what i am talking about.

The SP is about the same length as MW by what i have read.

Its a total let down of a game. Also VAC is replacing PB as anti cheat, this happened on Counterstrike a while back and cheaters in the game sky rocketed, as VAC is really bad .

Not a bad idea at all - can you rent PC games though? How would the CD-Key thing work? I'm without a 360/PS3.

PC Games you can't rent because of the CD Key issue.

I am going to hold off till after Christmas to see what the crack is with the game when the majority will no doubt get it.

Left 4 Dead 2 has my attention a lot more than than MW2 at present. So this will tide me over for some months down the line.
