    GRID on i7

    Hi All,

I recently upgraded to my current i7 box, and founf that Grid will no longer run. I found that it is a known issue with the i7, and that you edit the config files to fix it. However the file and directry are 'read only'. When I change their attributes in W7, they don't stay changed and I am unable to edit the files.

That is, I right-click properties, de-select read only and apply. Go back to the file and it's read only again ! Possibly a security feature ?
Anyone got any bright ideas ?

    TIA

Maybe try re-installing the game in a non system partition to get around the permissions problem?

Copy the file you are trying to edit to your desktop, right click > properties > untick 'read only', open the file on your desktop, make the changes you need, save it and copy the file back into the original location overwriting the current one.

A bit of a lengthy solution but this should work.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.
