Exclamation Missing - Steven W and Nick Haywood - Hexus staff

I thought as much, so I did a bit of looking around, at it turns out that the last time that Steven posted on his account was February last year, and Nick (gaming editor) was on August that year. So come on Hexus, spill the beans - it they go during the current economic climate, or what? I remember when Nick was recieving applicants for Steve job, and he got them down to Steve or..er, me. (!) I've seen for a whle that you're game reviews have, well, lacking content. So?

Re: Missing - Steven W and Nick Haywood - Hexus staff

I get the feeling that Hexus hasn't been expanding as quickly as it might've once been intended.

Game reviews are very few and far between, and I noticed a couple of days ago that mobile phone reviews were promised as well, but I haven't seen any on Hexus tbh. Not necessarily a bad thing - always better to be good at one thing than average at everything, but it's certainly a bit odd. The structure of Hexus, in terms of forums and website, tends to confuse me more than anything.

Well - let me put you all at rest

Nick and Steven are still in the company.

Nick now heads up our TV division - we are doing so much work behind the scenes - both for HEXUS readers and clients that it's hectic!

We are a private company - not a public one with VC money or other backers so we do everything tactically.

We are seeing growth across everything we are executing on - and infact have new full time people such as Sylvie in the team.

Anyway.... maybe best check facts before you hit rumors huh?

Re: Missing - Steven W and Nick Haywood - Hexus staff

Just to add to David's comments... since we installed the HEXUS bot which links up the forums threads to the articles, Steven's and mine's weekly post counts dropped as the thread is not created on our accounts.

So it's only when we reply to posts that we pop up.

Also, as David said, my role has changed within the company, so I'm more 'behind the scenes' than before... Though I did just publish a load of shows from the EA Winter Games Showcase which has me presenting if you've missed my ugly mug.

Please feel free to comment on how much weight I've lost since even Computex...

As for usual posts on the forums etc, again, it's a matter of time and where my role focusses me.

Sorry if you've missed my sparkling and witty repartee.

lol, nah... you're right, I haven't been around the forums nearly as much but that's just the way it's worked out.

I only dropped in the thread cos David suggested I pop my head up from the viewfinder and say hello.

To ask a possibly stupid question....apart from the forums I don't know what Hexus does, so, exactly how do you make your pennies then chaps?

HEXUS is the UK's leading technology news and reviews website. I'm sure you know that bit.

So like any other site, we sell advertising space for banners, site takeovers and general web-site based advertising.

On top of that we host help/after sales forums for technology manufacturers and etailers.

And finally, we work with many companies in areas way outside the scope of the HEXUS reader, where we're commissioned to produce a video content for that company.

Yes, there's stuff slated... it'll hopefully happen in the new year after CES.
