It's been another momentous year in the world of videogames, even the poor global economic situation hasn't prevented gamers from dipping their hands into their pockets and spending cash on some fantastic games.

2009 really began for gamers when the brilliant Killzone 2 was released in February and now we end the year on a high with the multi-million selling Modern Warfare 2, and the release of Assassin's Creed II, but what game gets your vote for Game Of The Year?

We've compiled a list of a few games that you might consider voting for, but of course there's many more to choose from that aren't on the list. When you've made a decision email HEXUS.gaming with the header 'Game Of The Year' before the closing date of December 21st.

We'll reveal the results over the Christmas period.

I'm torn between Batman Arkham Asylum and Uncharted 2 myself. Modern Warfare 2, Forza 3 and Killzone 2 were all good games but not quite in the same league, Batman and Uncharted had me playing two hours at a time, they were so good I didn't want my time with them to end. I went back to both for a second play through as well which isn't something I usually do with games as linear as they are

So, who have/are you voting for? and more importantly...why?

Seeing as nobody's commented on the article and I can't see an existing thread about it in here I doubt it

There've been a few discussions about what people have played most etc. But people always cop out and mention more than one game, myself included. There's no thread where we've been forced to put our money where our mouths are, to back one horse over the rest as it were and to be honest I'm as interested in why people choose which game to vote for as the games themselves.... I know it looks like there's lot's of similar threads on the same topic and that's not far from the truth I suppose but I was hoping this one might be a little different
