    Dantes Inferno Demo

The demo for this came out this morning, so gave it a go on the 360 and I have to say that I think it will be a decent game, as long as you dont set your expectations too high. I love the God of War games, so this can give me a nice HD GoW-alike to play with.

In the short demo its very similar to play and control. Its very smooth and there are some great lighting effects - I'm thinking the ranged cross attacks here. Graphically, I dont think the demo showed off too much in terms of what it will bring artistically, but looking forward to seeing the different rings of hell and more varied enemies. Technically though, with lots of enemies onscreen etc, mass scythe swinging and cool lighting effects, there didnt seem to be any slow down, which is great for this type of game.

The upgrade trees seem to be pretty good so cant wait to experiment with it a bit more. Maybe the reason why I'm so hyped about this game is that I dont have access to a PS3, otherwise I might just be like "meh" what with GoW3 coming out, and the HD release (i think) of GoW 1&2. But it could be the start of nice franchise for the 360.

Think that the setting is going to be great and cant wait for the release. Mind you. Non-skippable cut scenes - a big no-no. Tsk Tsk visceral studios

Anyway - anyone else has a go on this? Not really looking for this to be a "Blah Blah Gow rip off, Gow is better" but I can hope cant I?

    Thoughts please

    JP

    Re: Dantes Inferno Demo

Had a quick play this morning on this on the PS3, is nice graphically and easy to play and get into. It does borrow allot from other titles, most obvious of course is GOW but also allot of the good/evil morality options on skill building paths from games such as infamous - and damn yeah your right about those cut-scenes - gah painful.

Not bad but not overwhelming either, (although that may be because im currently playing through GOW1+2 HD collection at present) May come back and have a further play but it doesn't feel like a show stopper title with so many other great games around at the moment.

I've played the demo as well. Great game but would rather save the money for GOW 3.

The demo isnt that long, and doesnt really show that much, but I really quite like the setting. For those of us on 360, unfortunately we dont get the GoW choice so this is all we have. This may have to wait a little seeing as there are tons of games I've preordered or that I'm got on the Steam sale to go through (GTAIV, ME2, AvP) so they will prob get played first, then by that time, there should be sufficient second hand copies hanging about.... Hey, I'm not made of money...

But nothing - use the cross power - i think it just looks fab!

Yeah - it was pretty short!!! But still, it holds promise, I'll pick this up at some point when it's released. It's good enough as a third person hack and slash.

To be honest, I was going to pick it up regardless of the demo, based upon the strength of the dev videos. One was made showcasing the themes of enemies etc in each circle of hell and showed lots of gameplay footage. Things look awesome later on...

But if you've made your mind up already then you might as well not see them so that its a bit more a surprise later!
