    RPG suggestions

Hi all, can anyone recommend me an RPG that's similar to morrowing or oblivion? I'm looking for something with similar leveling systems.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Andy

Edit: I should have done this to start with, but anyway, here are the games I have already played

    Morrowing + expansions
    Oblivion + expansions
    Fallout 3 + expansions
    Titan Quest + expansions
    Guild Wars
    Overlord 1 + 2
    Dragon Age Origins
    Torchlight

I have mass effect and bioshock to play but don't fancy a shooty game, more of a sword and spells type game would be nice, I thought about the latest sacred?

Perhaps a list of games you have already bought would be useful then

    Two Worlds isnt to bad

You could always pick up Neverwinter Nights 1&2, granted they arn't first person but are great RPG's.

Fable is also really playable albeit a bit cartoony at times, Vampire Masquerade and also Redemption are both decent RPG's, Summoner is also pretty good if you can get your mits on it now

    Which platform? PC only?

if not many reviewers agreed best rpg of 2009 was Demons Soul's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demon%27s_Souls - http://uk.gamespot.com/ps3/rpg/demonssoul/index.html but is a PS3 exclusive. Is hard as nails though (still only like half way through)

+1 to Neverwinter Nights 1, -1 to Neverwinter Nights 2. Sequels - they're never as good, are they

In fact, you could pretty much go with anything from the Bioware back catalogue I'd imagine: Jade Empire, Knights of the Old Republic - all meant to be exceptional RPGs.

    Re: RPG suggestions

Dragon Age Origins is waiting upstairs while I trawl through some other games to get to it so that's recommended from me, although you've already played that.

I also absolutely loved The Witcher, fantastic IMO, perfect if you want swords, spells, and rolls in the hay with ladies of dubious virtue.

AFAIK the patch that they released, that gives you the free extra bits in the enhanced edition, also removed TAGES.

I think, anyways, been a while since I played it.

Yep it's true - no TAGES any more. -1 to NWN(1) - unless you play multiplayer, the single player game is not good. +1 to NWN2 - the single player campaign is actually really good, and the expansions are even better.

But if OP is looking for a level as you use type system then they're quite hard to find - there are probably some relatively obscure eastern europe games that have it, though I can't think of any off the top of my head.

I found two worlds really awful, but for £4 it's okay. Currently I'm playing Kings Bounty which again isn't the best, but I got it for £2.74 or something so fine for that.

Gothic 3 I really enjoyed - the openness, music and landscape is lovely. Gothic 1&2 are more retro and linear, but perhaps more cohesive as a result. Risen is the new game by the gothic guys, and it's basically a gothic 1 clone with modernish visuals.

    Re: RPG suggestions

+1 for borderlands, playing ATM, great blend of HL2 and Fallout 3.
KOTOR Was awesome - Mass effect in a similar vein, but for me not quite as gripping.
Baldurs Gate 1/2 Still my fav CRPG's of all time, but old school isometric with AD&D Rules.

You're certainly not going to want Borderlands then, like Bioshock it's barely an RPG anyway.

+1s for both NWNs, they're both worth a good crack and there's loads of expansions and mods out now.

Also +1s for The Witcher, KOTOR 1 (and less for 2, really wasn't quite as good) and Vampire: Masquerade.

Edit: Almost forgot, Planescape Torment - the king of well written RPGs.

god i miss Baldurs gate, one of the 1st networking titles i played.
its been mentioned about Dragons age and reviews calling it BG's 'Spiritual Successor' but i cant think of any other modern title which is even in the same league.
