Really not happy with the Bioshock 2 deal..

I've had to enter the key code into about 20 different things, sign up to multiple things, install multiple things, have not only steam but Live running at the same time, It wont let me choose a resolution above 1280x720, it has crashed twice within 10 minutes of play

really not a happy chappy at the minute, really excited for this game as well.

My flatmate pirated it, and it worked flawlessly for him first time.

Re: Really not happy with the Bioshock 2 deal..

That's what I want to know! I'm really quite pissed off.

    Can't go higher than 1280x720????

If I put it in DX10 it just stutters

It's crashed about 4 or 5 times now, and I always forget to save so I have to start again.

You sure that your CPU isnt partly to blame for your issues? Even though its overclocked its a still a low end core 2 duo CPU, however as you've got a 19" TFT you can't really play at a particularly taxing resolution ... Can you try having a dig around ini files perhaps to try and fine tune settings?

Re: Really not happy with the Bioshock 2 deal..

Works fine here, maybe its just a driver issue with the 4850 ?
edit: The point about your CPU could hold some weight too - cache starved perhaps ?
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Re: Really not happy with the Bioshock 2 deal..

well I find it hard to blame the CPU when no other game has had this problem, only call of duty 2 and and that was something to do with the microphone settings,

If the first Bioshock never done this, and Crysis didn't, CoDMW2 don't do it, I really don't think its a hardware issue (all these played in 4x AA, apart from crysis)

    Im using 8.6 Cat btw.

2052x1158 for me right away, had to put the key in twice (live + securom activation) no real problems. Bought via steam.

Not actually played it yet mind

Re: Really not happy with the Bioshock 2 deal..

Did the 4 for 20 quid deal on Steam, that's another thing I don't understand that why is it restricting me to 1280x720, it looks HORRIBLE.

edit: downloading 10.1 cat, going from 8.6 to 10.1 I'm sure might fix some problems.

    Yes, isn't the 8.6 from june 2008? :|

That'd definitely be the very first thing I'd try.
