Thank you Steam, for being another place for me to spend lots of moolah on games I'll play once and then forget about a week later

    Re: Thankyou Steam

I've finally gotten round to installing XP on my Aspire One, can anyone suggest any decent games on steam that will run on there? I'm thinking the original AvP (I've got the disk but its a pain to install via USB) but I'm not sure if it'll run smoothly.

They have X-Com on steam! It seems take-too have updated them as well to make them work on newer machines.... Oooo tempting. How much did they cost?

On my netbook I run, Quake/Quake2/Quake3 World of Goo, Defcon, Darwinia, Plants Vs Zombies, AvP from steam, Kingpin, Half Life.

Essentially anything from 5+ years ago should run but as its a netbook nothing to taxing.

Thank you Steam for the great deals over Christmas and letting me reinstall everything again last week because it stopped working for absolutely no reason.

i think its back up at £6 - but you get all the series, including inteceptor and that awful fps thing!
but still, call it £3 a piece for ufo and tftd.

it runs in a virtual dos box, but works fine on W7 - just make sure you dont run it full screen - the graphics havent been updated at all

Hmmm I already have a them (actually owning all of them!) running under virtual PC running 98 I was kind of hoping they were recompiled. Guess if they are bundled with dosbox it isn't so great, shame I was hoping someone had recompiled them.
