    Exclamation Germany withdraws "Silent Hunter 5" from sale

    According to ComputerBase, a German gaming community website, the Collectors edition of the Silent Hunter 5 has been withdrawn from sale in their country for it's "Multiple depictions of the Swastika" in the games packaging. This violates post war German laws on depicting and reproducing the infamous Nazi symbol.

    It seems that Ubisoft in Romania failed to remove all instances of the symbol in the manual provided with this particular version of the game. All other versions however seem to be ok.

    You would think they'd know with SH2, SH3, and an expansion for 4 all using U-boats that there not aloud....
    Seems they forgot to include a working game by some of the feedback aswell. But that's not worth a recall.

    iirc the stock skins for SH games have a + rather than a swastika, i guess this time they went with the swastika from the off?

    oh yeah, and its crap anyway, shadow of SH3 so i doubt anyone is too upset

    They didn't go with the swastika, from what i understand it's only in the back of the manual in the collectors edition. Think they still use the German Cross for the flags. But a real rookie mistake.

    Sh3 and 4 were both Broken on release aswell, each one seems to be worse on release with 4 being worse that 3 and 5 being somewhat unplayable. And that's if you can get onto the servers to actually play.
    SH3 and 4 both became good, but only really after mods. As stock games without mods they were always lacking something. Thank god for modders.

    It certainly would be a "Collectors Edition" if you managed to get a German copy.

    FonZy = :S
