    xbox live help needed

I have never used xbox live but want to get it sorted now I have Bad Company 2. Now what is my gamers tag??? Is it the one a made when i first got my xbox 360 and made my profile, or is it the user name I had to create when my 360 had an error and sent for repair?? Am I right in thinking that my xbox live password is the same as my msn password?

I did try to get this done a while back but failed as I could never seem to log in. Another small- as i'm connecting through a powerline adapter to a router, is there any need for me to enter the console mac code in the router?

edit: On my off-line pro-file I have a lot of points but how do I get them to my on-line profile (if i can ever connect) ?

edit: I have tried to recover a gamer tag but am told the following when I enter my email address and password for msn- This windows live id is associated with a different gamertag. Enter another windows live id and password.

    Really need help

    1. The first account you've set up wil be your profile. Any other account for youi're repair will be JUST for the repair.

    2. I don't think you'll need a mac code for you're router - I used to go my router via a bridge - no mac code was needed here either.

    3. The profile will automatically sync the two - I think.

    4. That's it - assuming your using one email address here, I'm thinking that when you create an offline acccount called something different to you're main, online gamertag?

    Re: xbox live help needed

No luck! I went to option to join xbox live under my offline profile then entered my msn address and password but it says- "This windows live id is associated with a different gamertag. Enter another windows live id and password." Very confused if neither the repair account i created on the xbox site or my offlien profile is my gamer tag.

I had this problem before rggr

Oh BTW, you'll obviously have to configure the router to allow the powerline adaptor for internet access, IP, security, etc. Maybe y9u've done this already.

I'm using a belkin powerline adapter and have never needed to configure it with my router. It gives my instant net access on my laptop. It just a plug and play job.

No i tried to get on xbox live ages ago but I can't remember getting passed the bit i'm at now. I have no idea how to find out if I have made a gamer tag by error or what its password would be.

Well if you've got some (any?) achievments, wherever you're offline on online, you have a Gamertag tag. If you go to the 'My Xbox' you'll see it. Are you use the 'New' version, or the old 'Blades' UI?

Well done! No, you're msn password/email address is what defines your Gamertag; that is, every Gamertag has an address/password alon with t. You won't see all hotmail (or whatever) emails - the xbox doesn't do that. It does log into msn thiough, so msn messenger contacts and mails will be there. So no, you won't have to enter it every time - the xbox remembres it. Now, what you've done is created *another* Gamertag, which is always in offline mode. I don't think you can sync to different Gamertags...

No mate. I switch between the two - you might have to click on 'connect' to re-connect on your PC/Xbox, but that's it.

You could of just created a new email address and saved yourself all the hassle.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Yes I could have but I was not thinking straight. Going to re-play some games so will earn the point again. Can the point be used to buy things then?

The points, assuming you mean Gamerscore, are purely there for e-peen and competition between friends [and the world].
