Clean the disk/your dvd player
OMG the disk is brand new... literally just opened it and just went to clean it like you said and around the outside is 2 tiny dark holes... looks like i need to take back for another
I haven't purchased this yet, but when browsing the latest offers from Play.com, I noticed a couple of comments about problems with installing with the same error message noted by the OP
Well on the dvd there was at the edge 2 small, almost indents/ bumps under the glass..... so i think it was that because it installed all the way till the last datacab.... am i right in thinking when you put data on a dvd disc it starts near the middle or is this just bad info i picked up
UBI have failed to impress once again.... look at this thread on their tech support... is there any help from anyone from UBI???? hmmm i am dissapointed, just hope my replacement works or i will have to apparently buy a new dvd drive
Just got the game, wont install ? - Topic Powered by eve community
Mine installed ok but i got mine from gameplay not play.
reading that link sounds like yet another victory for copy protection!
hurrah!
Or is it just a bad batch from play?
Gameplay no longer list the game curiously..
I read from that forum that it was play and gameplay.... :S it might just be they got alot of bad ones :S
it's a bad disk, same thing happend to splinter cell for me, it looked perfectly pristine but i still got an error on data7.cab every time
returning it for a replacement's probably the best bet
Aye all sorted well after faffing about a bit any way...
I connected my old old laptop to my network and then shared out the DVD drive from it then installed Assassins Creed 2 from the Laptop DVD over the network onto my gaming rig... was so quick to install as well : )
A total joke that this had to be done to play a game that i purchased my hard cash!
