Nice one Steam, taking a stand for the consumer.
I have to say that purely from my own experience, I really like Steam - i like the interface, the simple ability to buy games, and how easily i can generally hook up multiplayer to my mates.
The biggest plus though is how you can wipe a machine / buy a new PC, and reload all your bought games without any hassle of proving who you are (once you've logged in) or re-purchasing anything. Good stuff.

There are loads of games you can't get on steam uk that you can get elsewhere, doesn't mean steam is taking a stand at all nor have these games been removed - they were never offered in the first place.
Steam did at least have the pages for these games up, and viewable by all. But they never managed to get the prepurchase on them. SH5 at least has been up on steam UK for around 2 months. It is only recently that the home pages for these games has been pulled certainly implying they were planing on selling the games.
DRM may or may not be part of that. But they were there.
Edit***
Latest C&C is on steam so it's not DRM related.
As we speak Steam is "temporarily unavailable..."

The only Ubisoft game I play on steam is IL2 and that doesnt even update so I really dont care for anything else they may or maynot be doing..
I thought it was Ubi that pulled the games from Steam and not the other way round
