    Question CS Resolutions

I posted this a few days ago so am reposting after it being wiped. I'm currently running cs using the open gl driver at 1280*960 and am using a radeon 9500 pro and samsung syncmaster 171p. I'd like to change the resolution to 1600*1200 as this is the native resolution for my tft. However when I do this, I only get part of the screen and the mouse postition doesn't correspond to where it is on the screen, any ideas anyone?

    hehe

could be for 2 reasons my dumb mind would think of.

    1. the Refresh rate is too high and so cant show the resolution.
    2. maybe the Tft specs were wrong?

    dixons style.

hmm, could be the refresh rate is too high, I doubt the tft specs are wrong though cos I know other people with the same monitor and have no probs running windows at that resolution.

I have run in 1600x1200 before, but I seriouly doubt that is the native res of your TFT. Your TFT is probably 1280x1024, a res which doesn't exist in Half-Life.

    argh sorry, you're right

I don't know why but I had it in my head that the native was 1600*1200, I'm such a n00b.

    800x600 or 1024.. I prefer 1024 cos i use a 21" monitor - kinda looks and plays like 800 on a 17"

Anything and it's getting a bit dodgy.. crosshairs are proper small. I used to use 1600, but went back to 1024 and my frag rates went back up.

I can't seem to play in anything other than 1024X768, the mouse movement goes up the shoot

1280x1024 is not a proper res, -its not the correct proportion compared to 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768 and 1152x864 -

I use 1280x1024 for windows however

in CS, i play at 1152x864 (19" SONY CRT)

i deem it unplayable at higher res's. :S
