Nope. No changes to the engine, and quite rightly so - it's good enough and content is far more important.

Re: Fallout:New Vegas detailed first look!

Bit disappointed they've left most of the gameplay the same... don't get me wrong, Fallout 3 was a great game, it just felt a bit clunky at times. The hoarding of pots and pans, the slightly dodgy combat system... I thought it would get a bigger overhaul to make it less like Oblivion.

Here's for hoping that the minor tweaks pull together to have quite a drastic outcome...

Re: Fallout:New Vegas detailed first look!

Well I've not been posting as much recently because I've got into fallout3 modding
The biggest disapointment with fallout3 was the main storyline, I actually quiet like the gamebro engine they used.
It's not a fps which is good because fallout shouldn't be one IMO.

Re: Fallout:New Vegas detailed first look!

I am pleased it going to restart your character, I had brotherhood of steel installed and got to level 30 before completing the main plot! Not sure about having to play FPS for some monsters. I always loved the 3rd person of the original games.

This'll be a must have. I only need to play Mothership Zeta and that's Fallout 3 done. I've completed the main story with 2 characters now and really need somewhere new to visit.

So I've heard, Jay. However, I've already paid cold hard microsoft points for it.
It's just getting round to it, for the 100% completion.
All my new games are clambering for my attention!

Re: Fallout:New Vegas detailed first look!

MZ was awful & far too easy. Just got the Pitt to play through & I'm done with it (again) Not going for 100% as I can't be bothered to get the Karma trophies, would entail lots more playthroughs!

Re: Fallout:New Vegas detailed first look!

I have 99% I have 19 of 20 bobbleheads and I can't get the other without restarting the game

To be honest I cheated a little with the Karma, I reloaded the save games.

Re: Fallout:New Vegas detailed first look!

    Handy tip:
Just save before you level up to Level 30.

Then when you do level up you choose the following:
Devil's Highway - Karma is instantly set to Very Evil

Reload once you get the achv, level up then choose:
Escalator to Heaven - Karma is instantly set to Very Good

Reload once you get the achv, level up then choose:
Karmic Rebalance 24 - Karma is instantly set to Neutral

Then do one more reload and choose the perk you really want.

There you go. Three 20G achvs in a couple of minutes, and no major playthoughs required.

Re: Fallout:New Vegas detailed first look!

I really need to go back to it at some point.

I've nearly finished brotherhood of steel, but not quite, and not touched any of the other expansions. Since I installed Windows 7, I haven't actually got round to reinstalling it, so it and all of my savegames are sitting in the ether somewhere
