It is one of the best FPS games though, easily beats COD and Battlefield....
I saw that update today but its a beta and i tried to download it and the system said they already have enough beta participants :(. One thing thats good though... you dont have to pay for it!
No sign of Episode 3, or was it 4 ?

great news for cs:s although I hope Valve announce Episode 3 at E3. One thing for certain is that portal 2 is coming, although when its coming is another question.... well it is valve we are talking about here :)

CS:S still enjoys popularity in the competitive scene while there might not be so many leagues anymore, it has still endured after all these years.
From a competitive standpoint I'm a little concerned judging from youtube footage and comments I've read over steam forums.
They've supposedly done something with the strafing and acceleration making it 2 high and reduced the recoil on some weapons which I'm not too happy about.
I've been waiting a long time for a CS:S update because its been criminally neglected until now but not some superficial UI and achievements changes which I'm sure some will farm for the sake of it.
I'm not trying to sound ungrateful/elitist but it just seems like the game will turn into some poor man's BC2/MW2 when most CS:S players just wanted new maps and fixes for exploits like bunnyhopping and the much maligned hitboxes.
I'll reserve final judgement until I get to play it for myself.
Yes you are correct, i was in a rush as my PSU had broken at this point :P. But yes battlefield and CSS are the top games, they are in different leagues but both of the easily beat Cod tbh.Quote:

My god..... I ain't played CS for, like, 10 years or something. Ok, that's an exaggeration but back in the Beta 5/6.2 days it was the King of online shooters. And I was totally amazing at it. Now, I'd rather be on the open maps of Bad Company 2.

kill cam is stupid, who cares about kill cam, I have never once thought "I really wish this game had kill cam"
Well things like the kill cam are server side options which can be turned off.
They have finally removed bunnyhopping, that goodness.
The only thing that I have read that could be an issue is they are saying that movement speed is slightly slower
