Low spec fun games.

Recently got an acer aspire one for college, really nice bit of kit but I wouldnt mind being able to find some games to play on my breaks etc. So heres my question, anybody know of any low spec games which this netbook can play?

Quake II ?

One place I worked at about ten years ago, we used to organize Deathmatch games on the office LAN using our work PCs (600 MHz, no GPU). The game ran fine and was loads of fun, especially with the rocket launcher

Perhaps this might help you find out if you can run a certain game: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com...ing/index.html Can you run it? Select game from the dropdown box and it'll run a java thing and then tell you how your system will fair when playing your game of choice.

+1 for Starcraft; also Warcraft 3 *should* run fine on there.

If you don't mind a bit of casual RPGing then Torchlight (obviously ), although I've not tried it in netbook mode , Diablo II (which will run on *anything*, pretty much), and the original Neverwinter Nights (I used to run it under linux on the GeForce 4 IGP of my NForce 2 mobo, and under WinXP on a Radeon 7000 32MB, so it *should* run on 945G with some of the settings turned down!).

You usually need a lot of RAM to play football manager games.

Don't know about that. Obviously you've got to pick your leagues and so on carefully, but even with a hefty selection of tournaments I still haven't seen FM10 go over 800MB. The fewer leagues you load, the better it should run.
