my brother originally bought hl1 at release, it was great back then with so many mods. Then bout a year ago I decided to play it again, I linked my hl cd with my steam account and surprisingly steam also gave me CS 1.6, Day of Defeat, Blue Shift and Opposing Force, all for free!

Imho Opposing Force was the better of the 2 expansions.

Opforce and Blue Shift were good little games, but after the epicness of HL1, they were a touch short.. ended kinda abruptly. Good fun though - multiplayer OpForce was stellar - Gasworks being one of the best maps in there...

Just to add another comment about Steam sales ... just went online and thought hmmm Operation Flashpoint I'll have some of that. Then the 'buy for myself' button was greyed out. Thought maybe it was a US specia ... wait a second *looks in Steam library* huh, already have it. Bought in March. Never played.

Need more time to game. Need to buy a new Joystick too - just sold mine!?!

I picked up the Orange box in the Steam christmas sale and couldn't justify playing Ep 1 & 2 without running through HL2 again. Ravenholm still spooks me out and I'd also forgotten just how much variety there was in the locations, superb game.

I didnt think that level was overly spooky, but the zombies that rush at you whilst making that god awful noise did freak me out! I really do hope that they bring out ep3 in my lifetime...

I reckon it's vehicles; in particular helicopters. I seem to remember that at the end of Ep2 (and it seems such a long time ago that I played it now) there was a helicopter which seemed a rather convenient place for them to stop before they implemented it.

I don't really have the time to play it through again, so I'm waiting for Black Mesa Source, or HL2: Ep3... whichever comes first

Played it through again a few months ago. Really enjoyed it but started to think this time that it was getting a bit dated in both gameplay and graphics.

I have been waiting for Black Mesa for ages! When it arrives I think I'll have to play the entire lot through again: Black Mesa, then HL2, then Episodes!

I hadn't heard of Black Mesa before now, but it looks fantastic. Wonder how long it will be before completion?
