    Microsoft Sidewinder Mouse

I have been looking at the Microsoft Sidewinder. It is cheap and has reasonably good stats. However there are 2 mice in the Sidewinder series that seem the same...

The Microsoft Sidewinder and Microsoft Sidewinder X5.

They are about the same price and seem to have the same performance.

Does anyone know the difference (apart from bits of colour)

    Thanks

    Re: Microsoft Sidewinder Mouse

    Yes.

The Sidewinder is the original Microsoft Sidewinder gaming mouse. It has an LCD screen to indicate DPI level, metal side buttons, adjustable DPI settings on the fly, and most importantly, adjustable weights so you can customise the feel of the mouse.

The X5 is a newer version without the LCD, metal buttons or adjustable weights, making it an inferior mouse imo. I got the original one when it was cheap at PC world and I don't regret it - one of the best gaming mice I have owned.

There is also an X8 version which is wireless, but again lacks the features mentioned above. Stick with the original if you can find it for a decent price.
