Bollocks. I'm a subscriber as well :-( I blame the internet!
This hot girl came over to myspace last night, she twittered my yahoo till I
googled all over her facebook. Ask Jeeves...

yep internet takes yet another, I used to like PC Zone, well back in the days the only way you could get demos and free stuff where on CD/DVDs. Then came teh internetz.
But is it just me or has gaming/computing magazines over the years gone on a diet, it seems to have fewer pages and less content nowadays.
wow, it is a sad day indeed.
It turns out i bought the 1st issue, back in the day - oh the memories.
I even remember having the orig floppy disks... which i threw out only the other month.
PC zone... R.I.P
The Karl Pilkington of Hexus
Wow this takes me back a long time! Not bought a mag for years, they can't offer anything I can't get for free on the net so it's no suprise they're going, not that it's a good thing but I don't see a solution for them.
RIP PC Zone.
Death of the need for a cover disk = death of PC zone.
Oh what, it was always out of PC Zone and PC Gamer for me, i used to love PC Zone because it was cheaper than the £4.99 mags, i'm sure it was £2.99 (might be £3.99) but with demos and what not it was a fantastic deal....real shame but saying that i havent brought it for a few years.
I think I'll buy the last issue just for nostalgia...
Yep, it was good in it's time years back. Mr Brooker's back page was always a good read too.
Sad day indeed
Is this gonna be the trend for all magazines in the future? Unless they offer something that I cant get elsewhere, which I cant foresee, then its a dying format![]()
Now if they could only put gameplay videos in magazines....nah I suppose they could try and do a pop up magazine instead
A shame for sure, I read it each month from the 1st issue onwards for a few years, then stopped, then retarted 4 or 5 years back as a subscriber.
The staff turnaround was really high at that time, editors came and went within 6 months it seemed. I don't really game on the PC at all now, so I've not bought a mag for years. Back in the days with Brooker & McCandles it was at it's prime.
It is sad, but I can't say that I'm supprised.
As they say, they became popular because the internet was slow and people used to buy them for the latest patches and demos, which would have taken forever to download on a modem. But since almost everyone now has access to broadband they can just get what they need off the net.
They are going the same way as shops selling PC games - I can only think of 1 shop anywhere near me that sells PC games nowadays, as they are now all online.
I was at one of the recycling points close to me over the weekend and someone had just oflloaded a huge batch of Zones - I had a sift through in case any of the old Brooker era ones were there, but I didn't find any.
