    Wargasm - which composer?

    Who here remembers Wargasm?

    Brilliant game and brilliant soundtrack.

Now I know it's a really, really old game but does anyone have any idea of the tracks used in the soundtrack?

There's a mix of various classical composers, Wagner and Beethoven among them, but if anyone can find I track listing, I'd be eternally grateful.

I can find nothing in the manual, the credits or in the reviews...

    Re: Wargasm - which composer?

yeah, he did the title music and some incidental stuff, but the main body of the score was classical... and that's what I'm after is the track list for that lot.

Googled like a mad one but I can't find anything...

Get an android phone, download shazam, play game, use shazam to identify music, long winded, but i can't think of any other way...

Yeah, I sawed that thread Tak, I was hoping there was some uber-gaming nerd that made a playlist of the tracks at the time or something....

    Re: Wargasm - which composer?

I am the author of the thread on ataricommunity. I see you guys already found Verdi's Dies Irae. Below is the Youtube video id of another track I was able to track down, Sigfrieds Funeral March by Wagner.

It has a definite heroic and victorious feeling to it. Just let it build up.

    a53s4jyCqqU

I have not been able to find any others, since I'm basing it off memory alone, and no longer have the game I reacquired back in 2004.

    Re: Wargasm - which composer?

There might be more Verdi, Requiem, as well as more Wagner, probably also from Götterdämmerung.

    Re: Wargasm - which composer?

Do a search on Amazon MP3 downloads for Verdi: Messa da Requiem, then check-out tracks 2 & 3 for CD 1.

I found that two "Dies Irae" tracks sound more like the ones on Wargasm than the others, they may even be the very same tracks.

If you also search for the soundtrack on the film Excalibur (1984) you will find more of the same tracks as used in Wargasm.

    Re: Wargasm - which composer?

Bumping this really old thread, with relevant information, for anyone still or newly interested. The Atari Community forum seems to have deleted the thread I created, way back when.

Anyway, I am still on a quest to compile a collection of the music used in the game, and the following is probably as close as I ever have come. It only took me 8 years. Lol.

I have a Youtube playlist, but the forum won't allow me to post links. Instead, I'll just list the pieces/movements/symphonies that were used in the game, with the video ID in parenthesis.

Wagner's Siegfried Funeral March from "Götterdämmerung" (nkOiKy6sXfM)
    Verdi's Requiem, "Dies Irae" (ZDFFHaz9GsY)
    Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 (AZUXn40ssYw)
    Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 (GXADyN_B9L8)
    Mahler's Symphony No. 3 (1AwFutIcnrU)

There could be more. I doubt the entire symphonies are used in the game's soundtrack.

    Re: Wargasm - which composer?

I loved that game. I own the original game and have it here. I was thinking about this game but could'nt remember the name. After hours of looking on the internet to figure out the name of the game i found the game in an old box
Funny thing is the songs on there are all .wav so it plays in a regular cd player. Media Player is now trying to copy the music for me.
Will try to complete the list tomorrow...

    Re: Wargasm - which composer?

I own the original game. I justed to love that game! Yesterday i was looking on the internet for the title of the game because i forgot that i still had the cdrom. I was looking for hours on end but still could'nt figure out the name of the game. Until i suddenly realised i had stuffed some old games in a box. And there was the original CD .

So the CD is an audio CD aswell as CDROM. It has 13 songs on it. All classical. Will post details later.
