    Games you regretted finishing

like a book you've just finished, or a TV series that's over for good - what games have you finished, and made you feel you have lost something special when it was all over, and the credits were scrolling

You just knew there would be nothing like it, no sequel to surpass it, something you'll never forget. A game you completed, but would play it over again, not on a harder level, not to get a higher score, but just to experience it all over again

Outcast - Engrossing and beautiful game with an amazing soundtrack. What ever became of Cutter, we shall never know - Cryo are gone

Hostile Waters - a hugely underrated game, with a great plot and superb ending merged in with the gameplay

    Grim Fandango - enough said

The only game I can think of at the moment for giving a disappointing ending was Need For Speed Underground. Come the end of the game, the final cut scene of the scraggy bint walking towards you looking like she thinks she's gonna get it and then....thats it! Nothing else! Was expecting possibly an extra Limited edition car? Another disappointing factor was that once a profile was completed, the car within that profile could not be modded or upgraded any further

Deus Ex was the one I missed most when I saw the credits roll, that was a lot of my life for a few weeks.

gonna go all retro here and say Flashback for the MegaDrive.

God knows how much time i wasted on my GCSEs playing that game. Bit o' class.
At the time it was in a league of its own, for graphics and a killer storyline.
They definately dont make them like that anymore.

you think that's retro huh? how about Flood, on the Atari.. man... played that for like 9 months when I was was 10... finished it evetually, to climb out of a sewer and get squished by a car.... after gaining about 10 extra lives at the end of the last level (I didn't know it was the last level)

Unreal2, when that women died i was well sad
Then the rest of the game went downhill around about the time you got that stupid "black hole" gun, i mean seriously, nice idea, but just, no.

    Good game though, just sad

Shenmue. Still haven't worked out what it was about that game, but when I started nearing the end, it kinda felt like the penultimate day of a really good family holiday... *sigh*
