R.U.S.E and Patrician IV Demo out on steam

Just looked on steam and both of them are on there, however Pat IV isn't playable until September I think but is in English where as the current version that's out is German only.

Not played them yet, will have a play with RUSE later I think.

Downloaded RUSE last night, but haven't tried it yet. Anyone got any feedback?

Not tried it yet either. I'm confused though, Pat4 is no longer available to download but it seems I still have my copy from when I downloaded it.. :S

I too downloaded it over the night. I shall have a go this evening. I've played the demo before, but I can't remember how I got hold of the demo last time.
Looks great, but it's different to you 'normal' RTS. You have to think differently this time
    I'm looking forward to it.

I didn't go much on Ruse TBH.

Game wasn't that impressive, i was expecting it to be a bit more free with how you went about doing the game. But it gave you specific targets after each one was taken. I would have rather just had an overall goal at the start and decided the best way to do it myself. But i think the AI attacks are scripted into attacking after you reach certain points etc. Mabee as it was a training mission but it's not a great start.
The overall feel wasn't particularly good either, seems more like a game to get 12 year olds into strategy gaming.....
Just my 2 pence though, i also couldn't find Patrician 4 demo. Can only assume it's been delayed?

Mafia 2 seemed quite nice though, might pop out and buy that this weekend

Re: R.U.S.E and Patrician IV Demo out on steam

I guess the RUSE demo is probably the tutorial mission from the single player campaign, it's very different from the couple of open betas they had earlier in the year which were just multiplayer skirmishes where everyone starts with an HQ and builds up from there. I imagine the single player campaign gets rather more involving (least I hope it does...)

Re: R.U.S.E and Patrician IV Demo out on steam

Mm, tried R.U.S.E the other day. Demo is very limiting, but I like the style of it (in terms of moving sets of units around on a campaign/war room board) but found it very restrictive. What did annoy me though was the fact that you got a nuke launcher...seriously? I know they have prototypes (Maus, M95 etc) but that was just stupid as it meant you can insta-win. Kinda ruined it for me. I might keep an eye out if it drops in price though. Looks an entertaining game.

Re: R.U.S.E and Patrician IV Demo out on steam

Not sure about this one. I liked the look of it, but the demo wasn't too good in my opinion. I think the most annoying part was having to reselect units every time you gave them an order, unless I was doing something wrong.

Also, I got some planes, which were great, but after I set them on a bunch of tanks and they returned to the base, they never attacked again after that.

I certainly wouldn't buy it, I have enough RTS games to keep me busy.
