impressive
For a fan made game this actually looks very good. I might give it a try however I do wonder if Sega will send a cease and decist... most fanmade games have met the same fate. Either way excellent stuff. Just wanted to know also, did the guys create all the art content themselves? If so that is mighty impressive indeed. I can only wish them success.

Yeah it looks really good, but like mentioned previously they may get a cease notification. Either that or they may actually get employed by SEGA and asked to carry on.
Now that looks awesome - downloading!
That looks fantastic but like all active fan made games that start to reach a 'could be ready soon' of quality it'll get shut down.
Shame, I think game companies could generate more income if they were a little more lenient with their IP. As in official endorsement and support of promising projects obviously the blatant profit seeking clones still need shutting down.
Either that or devs with too much free time generate their own IP.

Had a blast yesterday, is abit easy mind! however brilliant gameplay just like it use to be![]()
Totally agree with you. However you have game companies picking up mod teams and turning what once was free into extortionate costing sub-par games.
I downloaded the demo yesterday and it plays just like it looks. Although if it was a little faster it would feel like the sonic games of old - can't complain much though afterall its FREE.
Erm.. this looks exactly the same as what I had played on Sega Mega drive!
All the fan did was change the background.
plus add dynamic light effects, high textures and rain effects. yep it looks EXACTLY like the 8 colour megadrive version

Perhaps, but it's their decision to make, and they may have reasons for not wanting to do it, such as not over-saturating a limited market. Another reason would be if they have concerns about the quality or originality of such unofficial releases damaging the official brand.
I'd think anyone producing an unapproved derivative work of a franchise of a big corporate can pretty much guarantee, at the very least, a cease and desist unless the original licence for the game explicitly permits such derivations. After all, for some games, the publishers include game editors and so forth with the game precisely to foster such add-ons, because they feel it grows the fan base. But that's their choice to do or not do.
Time trial challenge! What's everyone best time for all 3 zones...post your times, no lying
Just managed Act3 in 50:62...can anyone beat that?
