I was considering getting Modern Warfare 2 for the PC. I wanted to get a used copy because it would be cheaper. Is it possible to play online with a used copy?
Thanks in advance,
Varmint

Games like Modern Warfare 2 that require Steam become somewhat difficult for trade. I am not sure if Steam allow you to transfer games (I doubt it though). However it is unlikely you can play the game unless otherwise the account to which the game (ergo its serial number) was attached was sold to you.
Account selling is deemed illegal for some reason but I am sure people still do it. Be careful if you do want to buy a Steam account as you may end up with a banned account and what have you. Always try to find a local seller so you can verify account information, exchange any monies and transfer the account there and then.
All the best.
id agree with what TheWizard said, ive never bought a second hand game my self but then i do generally stick with the one game for a long time.
when buying any second hand game try and verify that the game is still playable online, be usless to buy a game that has had its cd code banned for hacking, though there shoudnt be any problems buying from long term forum users with a half decent trust
have bought all my recent games off ebay, boxed etc - ie legit. not had any problems since COD4...
my 2c.
One can never stop saying Thank You![]()
This ^.
MW2 is a steamworks title (proof), ie. Physical DVD copies still have to be registered on Steam, and then the game is tied to that Steam account.
