sure the game itself will be fine, slightly disappointed in the visuals though. we should be seeing photorealism on aircraft by now - is it being made with legacy hardware in mind?

not so much that, it takes them years to develop the game as there is not that many devs. they seem to rely on the hardware being better by release time to stop the game being a slideshow

Re: New IL2, name change and release date

Just a heads up for anyone that's interested.

The only boxed copy available in the UK is the special edition at £50 from UBI.com

    http://shop.ubi.com/store/ubiemea/en...s-Edition.html

Anything else will be download copy only. (although it's only available at Game and UBI.com as far as i can tell)

    £34.99
    http://shop.ubi.com/store/ubiemea/en..._of_Dover.html

    £29.99
    http://www.game.co.uk/Games/PC-Games...liffs+of+Dover

It won't use Ubisofts stupid DRM system, but will use an initial online activation. You'll get 3 activations, but after a month of use it'll give you one back. So after a month installed it'll revert to 3 again. Or if you stick it on 2 PCs it'll revert to 3 after 2 months.

I was just hopeing to get a normal disc copy but now i'm torn. I'd like a disc but would rather just pay £30, oh well.

Not a single bit of turbulence in all of the promo vid.... Does it even have a physics based flight model?

It's a option, along with sun glare, G effects etc.

I'm tempted to get it, i imagine the online missions would be fun.
