On the US release date the codes went live at 10am PST (well, okay, more like 10:22). Hopefully that means the UK ones will go live at 10am GMT, but worst case would be 10am PST (4pm GMT?)

Mine crashes every 20 minutes
The game itself just freezes, although the PC itself doesn't crash.
QFT.
Sound in TDU was pants, as were many of the races. Making winning races based purely on luck due to bad design is not going to make the racing fun.
Seeing the non racer cars showering sparks going over hills tells you they've not quite got the roads or the car dynamics right.
However, done right it could be a truly great driving game.

I dont think the game is that bad tbh, just disapointing in areas where it should have been its strongest. Things like car handling is just too arcade like and cars just seem wrong. I kind of think that it feels a bit like the older NFS like Underground 2 but with better graphics. Would have been an amazing game if it had a bit more work in getting the cars too handle a bit more life like but as it is the games ok but not great.
Kalniel - any word from Atari on progress for getting the online component working ok? I perserved through the failed login loop long enough to get into the game yesterday, but had very limited success with getting a multiplayer game going.
They've pulled in guys from other projects to get this one nailed - it's one of the reasons they bought Cryptic so that they had an experienced multiplayer team to look at this kind of thing.
They're keeping people in the official forums notified. Latest status updates can be found here:

They're also repeatedly polling to check the situation.
I'm sticking to offline play for the moment.

Mine still keeps crashing, and its the only game that crashes too.
Are there any common factors leading to the crashes? Reving the engine/braking/entering a building etc? What's the sound engine set to (menu in top left corner of the launcher switches between directX and Xaudio)
It's completely stable on my PC (PC DVD version), though every couple of boots my disk struggles to be read properly.
my game started in offline mode on ps3 yesterday and i finally got into the casino but couldnt play any games and if i try to get into casino when am logged into the test drive servers i just get offer not available at this time.
The game is good but i preordered to get casino access and it doesn't work. I hope they fix the issues soon.
Hopefully by the time they fox all the bugs it'll be cheaper than the £49 Game were asking for it, glad I didnt bother tbh..
As far as I can tell, the base game is actually quite good and relatively bug-free (there's still some stuff, but it's less than most new games). The major problem is how so much is built around community aspects (as requested by players from the first game). That requires servers and now these servers are having problems large chunks of the game's functionality are missing.
I have no idea how they didn't anticipate these problems, but it seems to be a recurring theme in any kind of MMO type infrastructure that they always have problems when new games launch. The thing with most games though is that the side effect is just not being able to log in/having to queue/lag. The side effect in TDU2 is a partially working game which makes it all the more frustrating/look unpolished/unprofessional when you come across aspects which are horribly broken.
Trig - why so much? I only paid £24 for the game (including casino and car DLC), and I think most console versions were only £38(amazon link) or so.
That's being looked at today. If you could take the time to fill out this questionnaire on the official forums it'll help:
