    Personally I don't feel friendly fire belongs in an action FPS like Planetside 2. Accidentally team killing is constant and unavoidable.

    The only good thing about friendly fire is you can destroy friendly vehicles that are blocking your path or friendly troops blocking doorways if they are AFK.

    By any chance were you throwing grenades when you got weapon locked? There is a nasty bug at the moment with grenades bouncing/lagging/warping around when you throw them. I threw one down a staircase yesterday only for it to explode under my feet killing me and my squad mates
    Was inside a Prowler stationed at the Tech Center on the Ice map inside the vehicle bay. We had NC all around us and couldn't exit and they was inside the complex, I had a dozen or so guys firing to the right of me down one of the hallways which was in-front of the stairs.

    Fired one shot down the hallway, hit the flipping framework, don't know what happend to the second shot, them bloody tank cannons ain't aligned. But had friendlies all around me. Got weapon locked then when I hit a few people with the splash.

    I must had killed a good few few hours before by rolling out the vehicle bay area and people running infront of my tank.

    What annoyed me the most is that I avoided two guys but they warped RIGHT into my tank!!!

    So yes, friendly fire has to go!

    lol that's part of how I feel, I did enjoy it, but then stopped playing.
    They did make a heck of a lot of changes toward the end apparently but I'm not as excited as I was back in aug/sept

    Re: Planetside 2

    Excited doesn't cover it for me. Planetside 1 was my all time favourite game. I could barely sleep last night. To actually be hours away from the opportunity of experiencing the best gaming adventure I've ever known for a second time. Well the feeling is electric.

    Planetside 2 has the best development team in history. They are so determined and total committed to listening to the communities wishes. The servers have been stable and reliable. The game is fun. Its being released on Steam. And its FREE to play

    Ok the game is not perfect. Still some bugs remained in the final builds of beta and there were balance issues to work out. There is nothing game-breaking there. The performance issue has improved greatly in the last 2 patches. Average frame rates are up for everyone and minimum framerate have doubled over beta for people with lower end systems.

    If I think back over beta and think of all the stuff added;
    Amerish/Esamir
    New Weapons
    Vehicle lights (these look amazing when you are flying over a battlefield!)
    Squad leader spawn
    Sunderer-AMS
    YouTube/Twitch integration
    .... the list is incredibly long. This is what came in just over beta.

    In the weeks after launch we have;
    The Planetside 2 App for Android/iOS
    The Planetside 2 player stats site
    The Mission System (THIS will be the best feature added so far)
    Player owned bases
    Tons more customizations.

    Its just so exciting to see significant patches going in all the time. In the latest PS2 Command Center Video they said they had 60 builds of the game lined up at the moment with new improvements, features, fixes and content. SOE are going to be developing this game for the long term

    For now though. Tonight, the Myriad Apocalypse Project's armoured column will once again rollout the warpgate, to fight for the Vanu Sovereignty.

    Awesome

    Hehe it depends really - if the entire 9gb odd of the game is going to be on steam then yes we will be playing it tonight. If only the launchpad is on steam and the other 8.99GB we have to download via the launchpad then no, i seriously doubt anyone will be playing before midnight :-/

    Re: Planetside 2

    Got to say things are going great so far for me. We (my outfit) had a few issues on Miller so made the jump to Woodman. A few bugs with server performance still remain but its awesome fun. Pushed all the way to the NC Warpgate on Indar and setup with Anti-air and Anti-tank. There were swarms of enemy vehicles trying to pass us but we held on for about 20 minutes before being overrun

    New PS2 teaser is up too

    If anyone needs a Vanu Outfit on Woodman head to our recruitment topic. 2 squads and slowly growing!

    Got a NC outfit on Miller. Most server issues have been ironed out now so everything's pretty smooth. Now we're playing for real all us ex-PS players are hooked!
