    Red Alert 3 Internet Freeze

    Hi,

I have some problems with Command & Conquer Red Alert 3.
whenever i click from the start menu on the online button, it goes to the online screen, but a few seconds later it freezes, and doesn't do anything. i still hear the music though.
it happens with my friend to. I have this game for over a year now, but it never showed this problem, until recently.

does anyone know how to solve this?

You could try alt tabbing out and see if your firewall has a security popup which could be blocking it.

Also if you are running Windows Vista or 7 it is advised to turn UAC off

Finally find the startup single player and multiplayer exe files in the installation directory and go into the compatability tabs on both exe files and check run as administrator then apply. See if that works.

Sorry I can't offer any fixes, unless maybe your sound drivers got corrupted somehow?

But rather I'd like to know if the game is worth playing? - I picked up the generals box set a while back and quite enjoyed myself. I see Steam has offers on this weekend for C&C 4 and 3 games at £3.74 each - not expensive by any means, but worth it?
    Thanks

Re: Red Alert 3 Internet Freeze

C&C4 is awful, RA3 is so dull I couldn't be bothered to complete it. I might buy it in the future, but even at current sale prices it's too expensive.

C&C3 is better, quite enjoyed that one.

As for OP, where did you buy RA3 from?

Re: Red Alert 3 Internet Freeze

ahh, the problem wasn't his fault. It seemed that at that moment the servers had some trouble. everything is fine now, but now my friend has some trouble logging in. While he and i are on skype, and want to start a battle with ra3, Ra3 says:
failed to connect servers, please check to make sure that you have a active connection to the internet
can anyone help me with this

Re: Red Alert 3 Internet Freeze

Its most likely the EA servers down at the minute. All you can do is the usual restart your PC and make sure net is connected before going ingame.
