    Razer Mamba mouse

Does anyone who is running windows 7 have this mouse? Just got mine today and not sure about installing the software for it. The reason being that a friend had another one of the mice, but the software messed the system up. The other thing I have seen is that there is some long round about way for updating the firmware. Its annoying that when you use the speed buttons on the side, they are not kept when it is next turned on. May have to install the software after all.

    Re: Razer Mamba mouse

yeah thats the one I`m using.

I`ve not had a single crash since using it. Had the battery die a couple of times but thats been my own fault for not charging when I`m not using it

    Re: Razer Mamba mouse

This is a very daft question lol But since the charging dock is usb, I assume I can't leave it to charge when my pc in off lol

Next thing I don't ten to map keys on my mouse (then again it has few buttons on it) So unless I went to stupidly set the speed to ultra high, what other benefits does the software offer ?

    Re: Razer Mamba mouse

aye it will only charge when pc is on which sucks but you can plug the mouse in and use it wired if it dies so not too bad,

The software allows you to change the colour scheme to lol I dont really use the macros function but I do have my sensitivity really high. I like the twitchiness

That is one big let down for the this mouse!! My old logitech mx 1000 was plugged into he mains, so that you could charge the mouse with the pc off. Not bothered about the colours really ( i like the blue light), and the sensitivity is high enough where it is now lol

    Cheers!

    Re: Razer Mamba mouse

In theory you could just use a mobile phone charger that takes usb, or a powered usb hub. Might be worth looking to see if people have done this to keep the mouse charged.

Good thinking !!! I'll have a look into that My dad did use an LG charge on his htc wildfire and that worked, so you might be onto something.

    Re: Razer Mamba mouse

Using the same mouse on Windows 7 64bit for many months now, all fine apart from the following problems.

Sometimes in wireless mode, the connection just stops and you gotta turn the mouse on and off to get it working again.

The other day after exiting BFBC2, I unhooked the USB cable to make it go wireless and I had a BSOD, booting up again, the PC crashed and my overclocking settings failed, it couldn't find the correct boot drive or something.

Lucky enough I had an other BIOS saved and switched to that on normal settings.

Yeah, Razor makes good hardware but fails on the software.

Think i'll give the software a miss then. The speed setting its on now i'm happy with, and I can change it if needs be on the mouse.
