    xfire has adaware :(

    Just downloaded xfire (as the steam server search is rubbish) and windows reported it was some adaware something system32/opencandy

    So windows got rid of it but has anyone else come across this?

    As for Steam if I save a serve to my favourites, next time i load steam they are all gone. It is also reporting that people are in a server, and i get on it but no one is there

    "late to the party pal"

    One of the reasons I don't use xware, it's always been full of crap.

    Aled have you checked the steam forum to see if anyone else is experiencing the same problem? chances are if they have, they would have bitched about it there!

    Xfire was a perfectly good piece of software when I last used it, around a year or so back.

    Sure it's not just a false-positive?

    Downloaded it twice and don't really need it, as I can just use steam.

    Fair enough. I only used it for contacting mates in the pre-steam days, don't think it provides anything particularly special these days.

    I wonder if this has anything to with the sale of Xfire last year?
    Viacom-owned game chat and discovery service service Xfire has been sold to Titan Gaming.
    <snip>
    Titan Gaming specializes in monetization, particularly in-game currency, video advertising, and in-game betting.
    My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

    0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
    scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.

    I used to use it because it gave a bigger pool of servers to play on. Using the steam one brings up a big list, but maybe only 20 that are 40 or below latency. Plus some of those have modded maps which I don't like. Just getting annoyed that the serverr list is not saving my favourites No idea why there disappearing !!
