    EA Games/Password Remembering

    Morning

I recently changed my EA master password and discovered at the weekend that both BFBC2 and mass effect 2 steadfastly refuse to remember the new password.

I type it in, tell it to remember it, log on. Lovely. Exit reload game, works. Next load after an unspecified duration, it won't work. Oddly, in both cases when I tell it to connect with remembered data, there is still something in the fields, I get a cannot connect message as opposed to a bad password message.

Anyone had any experience with this in the past/any ideas? I've tried a suggested fix of wrong password>correct one without remembering>log out>correct on remembering and it didn't help.

I'm about ready to /emoragequit and change the password back again. Before anyone asks, its a pain in the arse because I use a password manager for all keys which are lengthy and random. Obviously, because anything else would be useful, c&p is disabled in the bloody GUI.

Edit: Not tried reinstalls, didn't have time/inclination at the weekend.

    Rats.

Well, since BFBC2 seems to suddenly decided to be as stable as Charlie Sheen....a reinstall may be in order, that will fix it I guess. At least ME2 is still playable without typing in a humongous alnum string so no major drama there, just annoying.

    Re: EA Games/Password Remembering

I was having a few problem with Dragon Age 2 a few days ago when I was finishing it off. I'd log in ok automatically when first loading up, resume a game, but then it'd say it wasn't connected. So I'd have to go back to the main menu, login again (having to put my password in manually) then reload again, and then it worked.

Luckily once I'd resumed a second time, it worked ok after that for that session.

    Re: EA Games/Password Remembering

I binned the bfnc2 local data files and that seems to have sorted it.

    Now...to stop the bloody crashes...
