    Frozen Synapse

Not many indie games are discussed here, this one is rather good. It's a synchronous turn-based strategy game in the vein of X-COM available on Steam (note you actually buy two copies on steam so can gift a copy).

In Frozen Synapse, two teams combat each other. Both players set orders for their units, while the gameplay is frozen. When fiddling is done, they submit their turn with the consequences played out simultaneously. What is awesome about the planning stage is that you can test what you think the opponent will do by setting hypothetical commands for both yourself and your enemy.

No demo out unfortunately yet, but videos are available

    TotalBiscuit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jJrUY27O0Y (well worth watching).
    Giantbomb: http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-...napse/17-2579/.

    Anyone else started playing this?

Isn't this the game where Bit-Tech have been following its development process?

Seems like an interesting idea, but a bit too expensive for me to try it out

    Re: Frozen Synapse

Sorry for the bump but are there many people here playing this?

I love it been playing with a few friends regularly and now getting into the random multiplayer games. It so addictive and I love the tension when you think you've made a good assumption of what your opponent will do and set the most perfect trap for them only for them to do the one thing you never saw coming and kill a few of your lil men!

    Addictive!

Worst training ever - game up on this game after 10 minutes, cant see myself going back.
    Its the opposite of intuitive

    Re: Frozen Synapse

Thats a shame, after doing a few of the single player missions I've stuck purely to the multiplayer I must admit.

my mate gave me this the other day. I would describe it almost like a modern day chess. duno if others agree. It is a lot of fun the training isn't the best but its mutiplayer is great! i found i've just been learning as i play.

I find thats the best thing, learning as you go, you start to do things by accident and then it gives you new tactics

    Re: Frozen Synapse

Totally addicted, bought this with my cousin in the sale last week and have racked up about 15 hours. Multiplayer is tense! The sheer number of times I've submitted a 'perfect' turn only to realise ten seconds later I've left a gaping hole in my strategy (which is usually exploited) is ridiculous! All good fun though
